Why is meebo chat no longer there?

Hi, it's been a while(around 2 years) since I have logged onto fanpop. I've noticed meebo chat is no longer here. Could anybody answer when and why the chat was removed?

I feel like Fanpop should have a chatroom. One where everyone can go and talk to eachother.

Although I do like Google I wish meebo was still around... Anyway, thanks all for answering. :)

Actually it's Google's fault. They bought Meebo.
