What if there was a movie adaptation of Snow White where Snow White was African American with white hair? In one of the earlier versions of the fairy-tale, Snow White’s mother wasn’t specific about what physical feature she wanted to be a particular color. She just said she wished for a child that was red as blood, black as the ebony wood, and white as snow. Later versions were more specific with having her ask for a child with lips red as blood, hair black as the ebony wood, and skin white as snow (Which is how she got her name, Snow White). But what if there was a version where Snow White’s skin was black as the ebony wood and her hair was white as snow? She would definitely be very eye-catching and it would make The Evil Queen even angrier because of how the one who took away her title as the fairest one of all was a black woman, as well as her stepdaughter. It would make for an interesting twist on a well-known fairy-tale.
