"When Selena was presented the idea for the video, no one informed her the Kuda would be painted and she had assumed they would be colored in post-production [via special effects]," a production insider told !E. "When she showed up to the set she was very surprised to see them painted."
And then of course, as some of anda might remember, merah jambu tweeted her outrage about the horses:
"If there are any animal activists around Malibu-at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are Kuda being painted for a stupid Muzik video," the PETA supporter tweeted. "Artists should be lebih aware and responsible for their actions."
While PETA spokesman Dan Mathews insists "there are no selamat, peti deposit keselamatan ways to paint a live horse atau any animal," Sel's camp reps put out a statement assuring that "no Haiwan were harmed and all proper precautions were taken. A nontoxic, vegetable-based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water. An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising."
But it looks like that was not enough to put out the fire. "Love anda Like a Cinta Song," Sel's new song and video which was to feature the ponies, will not feature them in the end. The color-enhanced Haiwan will no longer be featured in the clip's final cut.
