Irene Adler:
To Sherlock Holmes always 'the woman', the attractive Irene Adler appears in the Sherlock Holmes short story, 'A Scandal in Bohemia'. She is widely regarded as the only woman to outwit Holmes, and for that the detective admires her greatly, keeping a photograph of her to remind him of her 'dubious and questionable memory'. However, it is incredibly unlikely that the sleuth felt 'any emotion akin to love' for Irene. She is deceased by the time Watson prints 'A Scandal in Bohemia'.

I only know her from Rachel McAdams character in the recent Sherlock film. I don't know if they'll introduce her. If they do another series, I suppose it's likely she'll be introduced. You just don't know what direction they're going in.

No. I don't want to make comparisons between this show and the Guy Ritchie movie. Irene Adler is a fanon sue at that and she was better off being left in the "A Scandal in Bohemia" story. I loved McAdams but her Irene Adler was just eye-candy. And I think BBC could come up with better female characters from the canon to introduce.

IF they do use Irene Adler I hope they focus on the whole out-witting Sherlock aspect and don't take it into romance like the movie did. However, I do have great faith in the writers, so I think we're safe from more gratuitous eye candy.

I hope Irene Adler is introduced! She'd at least give Holmes a run for his money, if not become a romantic interest for Sherlock.

I just don't want her to be a romantic interest for BBC's Sherlock. The Guy Ritchie adaptation already went there.

Me and my friend think that one of the changes they'll make to the character, is that they'll be introduced as a guy :D

yes i saw the spoilers of a episode and it seemed like 'A Scandal in Bohemia..I did really ship Sherlock/Irene in books but now I don't want them to change anything

I don`t know why all people who make tv series about Sherlock love so much theme Sherlock-Adler. It`s very stupid and boring ! I hate Adler as character ! She is unwanted in story about such man as Sherlock. I `m sure that Doil created this character only coz stupid people love banal things like romances with sexywoman and hero :/
