I think in s7 the fact that they aren't kissing or hooking up anymore shows us that the way they feel about each other is bigger than physical desires. They do anything to help and protect each other. Their love can't be defined or explained, it just is. He got a soul for her, he would do anything for her.

of course i think spike would be better with me but in the characters it would be buffy. i love there love hate relashionship, and i also like all that spike has done for her. spike is better woth buffy but i love how crazy he is with drusiilla and how he cared for fred/ill

it took buffy forever to realize he was the one for her and the touched speech just proves that he cares for her and only her it stood up for her when no one else would and gave her the strength to fight. she believed in him when no one else did and saved him countless times and he for her this is when they were uneasy allies and the comics are proving that their is stll hope for spike and buffy. and they also made fire broken record yes but true

i'd say his 2 true loves are buffy and Dru for different time periods and for different reasons/different same with angel and spike are buffy's 2 true loves for different times of her life. or dru being spike first love but buffy his true love, like angel is buffy first love and spike her true love
@magicalrose yes he was going stake dru or least wanted buffy to think he was going to but he seemed upset at killing dru the woman he loved and who sired him and even told buffy was dru meant to him but buffy edges it she made spike better and buffy believed in him where as dru cheated on him etc and wanted keep him in the darkness and gave spike idea of twisted love which he saw with buffy in season 6 him trying keep buffy in the darkness with him it wasn't until season 7 he realised love like that doesn't last/work like buffy said.
