We've just been replaying the original Playstation trilogy, so this is a really timely one for me. While I have really enjoyed #2 and #3, I feel that the original still is superior for being focussed entirely on Spyro. Playing as other characters can be fun, but it diminishes the games rather than adding to them, for me.

Incidentally, the list is missing the "season" games (season of ice, season of fire) as well as "Attack of the Rhynocs", all GBA games...and none of which I've played, so I don't feel the need to add even the one I could add.

I loved all the Spyro games I've played, (Playstation and GBA) and I love Year of the Dragon, with Gateway to Glimmer a close second. The GBA games, Season of Ice and Season of Fire were good games also.

I didn't really feel the need to add the GBA as I don't count them as 'real' Spyro games.

I love Year of the dragon. I love all the portals you can do.

I hate year of the dragon its the worst spyro game! If The legend of spyro the eternal night was on there then i would pick it! So i am going to pick shadow legacy!

I would pick ether dawn of the dragon or eternal night but there not up there so i chose A new beginning.I have been a fan of spyro since I was 2 to the age I i'm now wich is 12 turning 13. so pretty much I have played & finished the fist all the way to enternal night so I have done every game of spyro so far that ha ever come out so well i'm planing to buy dawn of the dragon right for x-box 360 & beat it get all achivements & go on with the spyro history the world has planed for us so I pretty much thank that there is goin to be shows movies toys in stores & colletables & such. the person up there harold to keep movein forward in the spyro history & past games & stuff so as you can tell I'm a spyro the dragon freak as you can tell because I could stay on this computer typing this all night even since it's not healthy for I would any way so as I was saying I'm a freak at the game you know I finished every spyro game there is so i'm goin to show every one the cast that most people would like at so here they are /cast:Elija wood as spyro, billy west as sparx, Gary oldman as ignitis,Kevin michael richardson as gual/terrador/& sniff /Martin jarvis as the chronicaler /Mea Whitman as cynder / corey burten as volteer / Jeff Bennett as cyril/mole yair/& scrach / & last but not least corey burton/Jeff bennett/clinton skene/& andrea Toyias as additional voices & there ya have it the crew the whole crew well I hopeyou like listening to that & everyone have a fantistick day bye every body.

I love all of the other PS One Spyro games, though this one's my favorite. I've played A New Beginning and it's not that bad, but what's with the Health and Breath meters?

Spyro the begging is cool and fun.

The new Spyro games aren't really "Spyro." Its too much of a Dragon-ish steryotypical story. But Spyro Ripto's rage, that was challenging for me and it was just as good as the first.

Dawn Of The Dragon one! thats like the most coolest Spyro game I ever seen.

I'd say "Year of the Dragon" is the most fun, but "Ripto's Rage" was my first Spyro (and Playstation) game and the one I've played the most.

i love all of them so fucking much(the playstation games anyway)besides enter the dragonfly(its so confusing & annoying)!

Nothing beats the original. but I love 1,2,3 equally too. :]

Actually, I like the first three. Everything after them just...failed everyones expectations. (Meaning all the Spyro fans I know in rl) The first three kept up with the uniqueness of the game, and they weren't repetitive...and there was always that factor of "Am I EVER gonna get to pay Moneybags back for all the Gems he stole from me?!?!" And yeah, finally we did! >:D It was totally worth it...head-butt-flameflame. Mwahahahaa!

Okay, a comment up there really just urked me.
If you are going to say the pinnacle of the original series is the worst game, you're saying the original series all together sucks.
Now, i don't care what your opinion is, and this applies to all games (or any type of series really). But, if you're going to insult the classic series and praise only the new series, then you are, in no right, a fan WHAT SO EVER.

I know, it's your opinion and all. But, that does not matter here. You can, at the very least, show SOME RESPECT for the Original Spyro for paving the way for The Legend of Spyro. If Insomniac games did not Create Spyro, then they could not have let a new company take over and create "The Legend of Spyro."

Funny enough it's probably the one I've played the most too. Took the longest to complete (and was quite frustrating at times too!) but it's very fun and very challenging. I think it has the best level designs out of all the Spyro games I've played.

That said, a few of my favourite levels ever (and my favourite boss) are in Ripto's Rage, so props to that one too. ^^

Spyro: Year of the Dragon is probably still the best Spyro game out there. But my favourite is Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer. It's the first Spyro game I played, so it's just nostalgic...

@AngelOfTheTriad: no matter what you say, you're not showing much respect for TheDarkmaster's opinion. Of course it's possible to love Shadow Legacy, hate Year of the Dragon and still be a fan of the series. Furthermore, if Insomniac never made the first Spyro games, some other mediocre company would've probably made games like Spyro. Show a little respect for others, will ya?

My favorite by far is the third game, Year of the Dragon. It's so fun! :)

I love Year Of The Dragon, Spyro The Dragon, Ripto's Rage and Eternal Night. A New Beginning is one of my favorite Spyro Games of all time.
