didn't Dean throw it in the bin as I recall cas gave it back!!! I hope Sam has it hidden somewhere cos he was there when dean put in the bin as he left the hotel

I was seriously upset that they didn't resolve what happened to the amulet in S5. It's such a huge part of the emotional mythology of the show. I don't see how Sam wouldn't have picked it up out of the trash. But andrealovesshia has a point- why didn't Sam give it back to Dean in or before Swan Song? Unless he kept it as a talisman for himself, to remind himself what he was fighting and sacrificing everything for. And now that he's back, he's not himself. I doubt the amulet means anything to him now. I'm hoping that when he comes back to himself, the amulet will figure somehow in his return to humanity.
