PART 23: STELLA'S POV
"Oh my god, look at Stella Johnson!"
"Is it real?"
"She's a FISH!"
My tail flopped around helplessly under my punch-stained dress. "See, I told anda all she was a freak!" Piper announced, sounded victorious.
"What did anda do!?" David demanded as he rushed in on the scene. "STELLA!" Claire screamed and ran up to me. She slid around in the punch and finally fell right beside me. "OH NO!" She shrieked as her legs shimmered for a saat and were replaced sejak her tail.
"Claire Winters is one too!"
"That's why she quit the swim team!"
"How is it possible?!"
My eyes snapped open and I sat up gasping for air.
Thank god, it was just a horrible night terror.
I looked over at my new alarm clock to see that it was 7:15 am. "Crap! I'm late!" I threw my covers off of me and ran to the bathroom to get ready.I brushed me teeth, combed my hair, did my makeup, and changed in a rush. I slid on my flip flops and yanked my phone off the charger. 4 new messages , it read.
"Stella, where are you? I tried knocking on your door but nobody answered?"
"C'mon your gonna be late!"

"You stayin' utama today, beautiful? Reply." -David
"GET UR BUTT TO SCHOOL!" -Macy
I sighed and sent quick balas telling them i'd be on my way. "Dad, can anda drive me? I'm late!"
I yelled, pounding on his bedroom door. No reply.
"DAD!" The door opened and I froze with complete shock. The person standing there was not my dad.
A perpecahan, berpecah saat passed before realization kicked in. "MOM!" I screamed, throwing myself at her. She wrapped her familiar arms around me and let me stain her baju with my tears.
"Shh, it's okay. I'm here." She soothed, rubbing my hair. When I was finally able to speak I stood back and looked to make sure it was really her. Could this be another dream? Was my subconscious playing cruel tricks on me? She smiled her radiant smile through her own tears and tucked a lose strand of hair in her ponytail. Same shiny auburn hair. Same glowing mossy green eyes. Same laugh lines and perfect facial features. It was her, it was really her! My mom was home! "Oh, mom! Where have anda been?! We searched everywhere!" I launched myself into her arms again and breathed in her scent. She always smelled like mint candy, though she never ate candy. She guided me to the sofa, kerusi panjang and took my hands in her's. "I'm not quite sure where i've been. It was dark, very very dark. I never saw a thing but their faces." She said, trembling. "Wh-who's faces?" I stuttered. She looked at the floor to control herself before she met my eyes again and answered. "Horrible, terrible men." Is shivered thinking of 'horrible terrible men' having my mother. "I was out in the garden that afternoon, I remember I was planting lebih tomatoes. Your father never could get enough of those tomatoes!" She smiled through her tears. "I was getting ready to go inside and change out of my gardening clothes to pick anda and your sister up from school. Where is she, sejak the way?" It took a saat for my brain to work right again and I answered. "Ally goes to an all girls boarding school in London. Grandma's paying for it." She frowned and looked as if she might komen in her loving mom way, but continued on with her story. "Anyways, I had just got to my feet when I heard an engine. A man on a motorcycle offered me a ride. Of course I berkata no, but he kept hitting on me and wouldn't go away. I went inside and watched out the window for a while but he stayed. I was going to call the police but somehow he got into the house and hit me over the head with something. I woke up in the back of a van with several other women. I had no clothes and couldn't remember anything. The man convinced me I was his wife and I was to serve him and the others. And if I tried to run away, they'd kill the other girls and their families. I spent what seemed like years there until one hari I just remembered eveything. I escaped with Pheobe, Gloria, and Julia (the other women) and came back here.
"But mom, if this is where the man found you..shouldn't he come here first?"
