Season one she was tolerable, and even a bit likable. In season two she's annoying as hell. Right now, I can't stand Elena.

I think she's grown as a character. She's been able to stand up for herself more this season which I like because it shows that just because she isn't a witch, vampire or a werewolf doesn't mean she's an invalid.

I agree with katie15; I think that Elena has grown alot this season and stands up for herself more which I love. I think 2x10 & 2x13 are two of her best episodes so far out of S1 and S2.
