I can't stand her. She is just in the show. She talks about saving everyone but always complains about it at the same time. If she doesn't want to save them then leave and don't help, quit complaining.

I think Bonnie is a plot device. She only 'saves people' for plot reasons but gets no pay off/development from said storyline. Why would I consider her a hero, when she's not even a person?

Not really. They would just pawn the save-everybody storylines onto somebody else, Bonnie is just more convenient. I don't like her witch side because it's only used and abused by the writers. I prefer the Bonnie that's just doing normal things with her friends. Bonnie had a 'hero' moment only once in S3, imo, and that was when she saved Matt from drowning. It was so human and didn't require magic.

Umm, excuse me but she's always saving EVERYONE'S ass. Everyone would be dead if it wasn't for Bonnie, Elena would be dead, so would Damon, Tyler, Caroline, Jeremy, Matt, Klaus and Stefan. She saves everyone with and without magic, if there's a problem who do they go to? Answer: BONNIE!!! She's more of a hero than anyone gives her credit for.

A hero saves people no metter what Bonnie only complains about everything and the tyler/klaus switch while it saves everyone we have yet to see how it turns out. And saving Jermy and bringing him back "damaged". was wrong.

I have a hard time seeing any of them as "heroes" anymore, or rooting for them at all. I honestly think they're all a bunch of terrible people. But if I had to say, I would definitely say that Bonnie is a much better person than Elena, anyway.

I just think it's kind of hard to have a hero in a show where you're supposed to root for the supernatural beings, whom, I might add, are all murders in the end of the day. You get my point?

Yes, Bonnie is the hero in my eyes, because yes, her plans might have back fired, but all of the others has as well, at one point or the other, but what makes her the hero is that she puts others before herself, whether it's Elena or the town. She has the right intentions thats what sets her aart from others.
It shouldn't matter if Bonnie complains or not, because they all do and why shouldn't she, otherwise people can take advantage that way. Even if she is there as a plot device (each of these characters serves a purpose on this show, so that is neither here nor there), she too serves a purpose and is just as important as any other character. Her being a witch shouldn't matter, because even though some think she might have "abused" her power, then I say again they all have or taken advantage of a situation, whether there a witch, vampire, werewolf and human.
Some to me are being bias (not just talking about this poll, but this club and others too) because they don't like her, so make up excuses. If you don't ike her, you just don't like her, simples!

Do I consider Bonnie to be a main character? No, because she isn't, it's a fact! But she is a hero! It doesn't matter how much screen time she gets, she saved the day plenty of times. She's not the one who saves the day ALL the time, she got her ass kicked many times but she's way more useful in crisis then lots of main characters such as Stefan who's usually the one who begs for help. ( I'm not saying that Stefan is useless just that he is the main character yet he's not a hero)
