This is how I would have ended "Sisterhood Everlasting." This might take two posts.

Tibby opened her eyes to see the evening sky full of stars, just like ten summers ago. There was a stirring to her right and the sound of a girl's sigh. Tibby's eyes widened with surprise to see who was lying beside her.

"It's about time you showed up," Bailey greeted her old friend, smiling.

"I guess so," Tibby replied softly.

"I know this is hard," Bailey sighed again. "I've been through this."

"I know," Tibby conceded, "but what about my Bailey? I won't see her grow up."

"You will, sort of. I've watched you off and on," Bailey replied.

"I guess so," Tibby sighed, looking back up at the stars. "I kind of felt it every once in awhile."

"Bailey will be fine," Bailey promised. "Oh, thanks for naming her after me."

"You're welcome," said Tibby softly.

"She has Brian. He'll be a good dad."

Tibby nodded. "He will."

"Want to take a walk and play Dragon's Lair?" Bailey invited her friend.

"Sure!" Tibby happily agreed.
