She’s not oblivious to the smirk plastered on his face. In fact, she’s noticed it all morning, but she had hoped it’d be gone already. It’s another five minit before she can take it no longer and throws her hands in the air with impatience.
"What is it?" she hisses.
He turns his head and stares at her innocently, blinking for added effect.
"Is something wrong, Ziva?"
She scrunches her features and shakes her head.
"What is this…this thing anda have been doing all day?”
He shrugs and hides another smile behind his hand.
"I’m not entirely sure what you’re referring to." He twirls the remote in his hand and taps his chin. "But, last time I checked it isn’t a crime to be in a good mood."
She narrows her eyes snorts.
"You know exactly what I am talking about, Tony, and you’re making it extremely obvious," she snarls back at him. "Did we not talk about discreet?"
He laughs this time, in total disbelief.
"Discreet? Is that what we’re calling it these days?" he plays with the remote and continues to stare at the screen. "I highly doubt your neighbors would think we were discreet, Ziva. anda nearly shattered my eardrums last night."
She’s taken aback sejak his brazenness and she can do nothing but gape in shock.
"And this morning."
"Tony—" she starts warningly.
"Maybe I should invest in some earplugs."
"Shut up," she nudges his side.
"Or some soundproof walls."
"If anda keep talking anda will never hear me again. Trust me on that."
He jumps a little in his place, all giddy with satisfaction from riling her up. It’s exactly what he wanted.
She nods, convinced that he’ll drop the conversation. She attempts to ask a soalan about the suspect on the monitor, but she knows he’s got lebih to say when his eyebrows twitch again and his arms menyeberang, cross in a laid-back stance.
"It was good though, right?” he asks quieter this time, but still with the same oozing confidence.
"Yes, Tony," she sighed. "Very good."
He takes a pause before he speaks again.
"Good enough to do it again, say, tonight after work? We could stop and get a pizza and drinks, bring it back to my place."
His voice is nonchalant but his expression is eager, and she can’t help but smile.
"I think I would like that. We never got around to watching that movie."
He smiles wide and she can’t help the fluttering in her stomach. She’s not sure she’ll ever get used to that smile.
"Great. It’s a date," he nods and refocuses his attention on the screen. "See anda then, David."
She shakes her head and laughs. She pats him on the shoulder and whispers in his ear before returning to her seat.
"You might want to pick up some earplugs, just in case."
"What is it?" she hisses.
