Chapter 14
Football games and gym days
“GO! GO! GO! GO!”
I groaned. “Oh, come on guys, it’s just a stupid game!”
“A stupid game!” Adam yelled, and Ryler nodded his head enthusiastically. “It’s football!”
I roll my eyes. “So?”
“So?” Adam mimicked. “This game is sacred! Awesome! It’s football!”
“It’s also too long,” I whine. “I mean like, I Cinta it, I really do. But sitting around is torture, especially if your team’s losing, why can’t we go back to this channel after it’s done.”
Ryler looked at me as if I’d grown two heads. “And miss something important? Uh, no honey, sorry.”
I rolled my eyes as they started yelling again, and watched in amusement sejak their reactions. Luckily, since they were football freaks they let me skip school, it was a Monday so it kind of didn’t matter, most Jones’s loved to skip that day.
I get up from the couch, “I’m going to get a snack.”
“Prosper,” both boys berkata at the same time.
I grunted once I saw the front doors of my school again, it’s not like school sucks but sometimes when I get to school I just feel like turning around and going back utama to be lazy. But school’s important, I’m stuck with it for a few lebih years.
Beth smiled at me happily, she hugged me. “Hey, chickie chick, how was football?”
“Intense,” I say, “the boys made me fell off the sofa, kerusi panjang three times with their pushing.”
Beth laughed. “Told you, should’ve just gone to school and endure the pain with the rest of the teenage population.”
I groan. “Shut it, let’s go…what day?”
“Let’s just say that were having Gym first time in the morning!”
Beth laughed as she pulled me along with her, which I’m sure I was in a weird state. We entered the stupid doors and got dressed quickly, and went outside. I was about all huffed out at that time, Sage gave me an encouraging smile before she went to her seat.
Why couldn’t football be today?
Our awesome coach did the attendance and thankfully today was a free day, no exercising atau running at all, so I walked my lazy butt to the bleachers and sat there as I watched multiple kids playing bola keranjang and other things.
I had been sitting there for a few minit when Beth joined me, looking tired.
“What’s up?” I asked, looking at her.
“I don’t know, thing’s are bit…I don’t know, weird.” She berkata vaguely.
I rubbed her arm, “want to go to the doctor’s office and fake injuries?”
Beth smiled. “No, not today, maybe Friday.”
“Where’s the rest?”
“The other gal’s are playing basketball.”
“And Grey?”
Beth shrugged. “I didn’t see him, some guy berkata he wasn’t here today.”
I sighed. “Ugh, tired, so tired.”
Beth nodded, and then we just continued watching the others play. Beth squirmed and kept looking at the watch on my arm.
“Not yet, rosebud.”
Beth groaned. “Oh my gosh, I never have a bad hari in Gym, it’s Gym! What’s happening to me?!”
I widened my eyes. “Woah,…calm down.”
Beth shook her head. “It’s true though, I’ve got a D in French, and a B in the rest of my classes, and I’ve barely turned work in! Why is this tahun the one I’m failing! No honor roll and I get grey hair!”
I looked at her. “Sweetie, everyone’s not going to succeed.”
Beth rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m just tired, and I feel like, if I don’t raise my grades up…I’m going to fail.”
I nod. “Sucks to be you.”
Beth glared at me. “Shut it, Pam.”
I shrugged. “Things happen, hold on, whatever. So…about those injuries miss I’m going to fail?”
Beth paused, then turned to look at me. “Where’s the nurse’s office?”

This is what anda call the Earth
This is what people call the world
This is what we call life
We can't go on pretending hari sejak day
That good things will always happen
Stormy days will come, it's not a miracle
But the storm will end soon, and all will be clear again
Heavy rain's crashing against my windowsill
I think, when will this ever stop?
The thunder's crashing against the trees outside
Today's not going to be a fine day, but it will end
I woke up this morning and guess what I saw
Bright sunny mornings with a clear future
No one's gonna stop me from believin
The rain stopped and the future's bright again
Good and bad create our lives
We can't pretend that everything's gonna always be alright
It's hard to think that something's gonna be wrong
But it's the truth, the whole truth.
We can't go on hari sejak hari pretending
Everything's gonna be alright
But we know that sunny days will come out
Soon atau later.
It's sad
It's the truth
Fighting through what it is
But I'll be stronger
I've gone through
Mounds of pain
I've been through
The deepest waters
Nobody can change my past
It's the truth, and it changed me
Sad to even hear the truth
Sad to...say the truth
Reality's always sad
And no one's gonna escape it.
It's how I became who I am today
It's how I didn't brag.
Why does this have to happen?
Why did it have to end?
Why does the world have to be so confusing?
Why did the fun have to end?
The world's just a crazy place
And no one's gonna stop that thought
Cause I'm broken for good...
Because of...the truth.
It's the truth
Fighting through what it is
But I'll be stronger
I've gone through
Mounds of pain
I've been through
The deepest waters
Nobody can change my past
It's the truth, and it changed me
