and I agree with x-missmckenna-x, the actor who plays Damon looks so much older than her, it was like some old guy was kissing a teenager. If TVD has 8 seasons, Ian will be 40 and Nina will be 28... Ewww. The Best couple would have to be an epic LOST couple (Jate) in my personal opinion.
And besides, technically they're not a couple.

@CSI_Rachael: AMEN. My thoughts exactly. Just because some people do not believe they are the best TV couple, doesn't mean other people won't. IMO DE aren't at the moment anyway, but I hate that there are some people on here that don't respect that there ARE people that see them as the best.
Imagine him with Bonnie. She looks 12, and a little girl by his side. Unless you're into pedophilia I don't think you'll enjoy that. But you're a Bamon shipper? So I don't understand your comment. They both looked hot in that scene together, and Nina/Ian have mad chemistry. But hey, some people just have different preferences. Some people like to ship this thing with Elena --> link and some people like to see hot couples with passion and no apparent skin conditions.

And yes I adore them, but they're quite a long way before becoming the BEST couple of all time. It's only been one season after all and so many truly epic couples have pulled through five to ten seasons:D

Ok so because i am a fan of the Damon and Bonnie spot does that automatically mean i want them as a couple, No it doesnt! In earlier episodes i liked their banter it was fun and i thought something could happen, but then the writers really started to focus on the Delena ship, and as time went on and tiny little things happend like the lingering looks etc it started to really , not make me puke, but make me think omg this kinda loks wrong, and it wasnt until the kiss in the finale when i really noticed the age differnce! I mean there are so many couples that work amazing with that massive age gap (Bill and Sookie, Angel and Buffy to name a couple) but this coupling not in the same category!
To all Delena shippers, i am not trying to convince you its wrong i am simply saying what my feelings are, we all have our own preferences, this question asked if they were the best couple on tv , and i simply said no where near, as the majority have agreed with me! Sorry if it seemed i was attacking you all!

That was really stupid what you just did, because you just pissed off fans of SIX ships, two of which have the biggest fan base around here. You're not doing Delena any favors by how you're portraying their fans to be.

I'm sick&tired of people saying they don't like delena, because they're overrated or because of the fans. the fans have nothing, and I'll repeat, NOTHING to do with the couple. & WTH , why is it a bad thing that they're too popular ?
BTW : just ignore the fans that are being rude & don't get all stressed out because of them :/
Well, besides the fact that I do watch TVD/read the books/like other ship, I think people mostly say that the ship is overrated because of their fans, not overrated itself in the show, and also, they dislike it because of how the fans act, not because it's "too popular". It happened to me with Glee after watching it, for example, I didn't liked Puckleberry because it was super overrated by the fans and becuase they mostly act like 2 year olds. Don't get me wrong, we're not saying ALL OF THE FANS are like that, because of course they're not, I'm friends with a lot of Delena fans because we share other ships and it's ok you know? They don't come and attack me like other Delena fans would do because I don't like Delena. Same goes with Puckleberry fans, I'm friend with a lot of them, and they don't jump on me attacking me just because I ship another thing. We're not saying all the fans are the same, but most of them are.
One thing is having your opinion and loving your couple and all, and another is trying to express how much you "love" your couple by bashing every other couple/character/thing in their way. Which is, sadly, what is happening with Delena.

Like I said, normally it's like "DELENA OR DIEEEE" and I'm like, oh come on just get over it please?
I also have the feeling that some fans, not all of them, just SOME, just ship Delena because they like Ian Somerhalder. Which is sad IMO because I also love him since ever, but I dig a little harder on Damon as a character and on what I think he needs and all. But that's another thing. Like I said, just SOME fans are like that, but it's ok I guess.
And I disagree about your point that a lot of people only ship Delena because of Ian Somerhalder. Personally, I ship Delena mainly because of DAMON - he is the character I was most interested about, mainly because I had read the books and could understand his character more. I know A LOT of other people that feel the same way. I know people that PREFER Damon to Ian and not the other way round. Again, this is biased because you could say the same about Bamon fans {although I'm convinced most are Bonnie fans first}

About Ian, I also meant Damon. I personally think (and when I say I think I don't mean it's what actually happens because I'm not some kind of poll or whatever, and I'm not inside everyone's minds, it's just what I can tell by reading people, and don't worry, I still don't mean every single Delena fan) there's people that just cares about Damon/Ian's gorgeousness, and they just ship them because they like HIM without, like I said, digging a little bit more into the character itself. I know there's also a LOT of Delena fans that are completely the opposite, like I said, don't worry, I don't mean every single one of them, but I think it's what's happening. They see the triangle, they see Damon/Ian being the hotter one, being funny and snarky, and they inmediatly say "I want him to be with the girl" when there's a lot of other characters that could also fullfill Damon's needs. Better, worse, that depends on everyone's point of view I suppose, and how every character grows and evolves, but some people don't see that either.
It happened with Lost, some people liked Skate better just because "they were hotter", or because they liked Sawyer better than Jack so they root for him to "get the girl", and when Juliet came in they didn't even realized she could also be a good thing for Sawyer. And look at it, at the end of the looong road, it's not just about the triangle, it's about the character and what he needed. And sure, like Josh Holloway said, Sawyer and Kate were a good thing and all, but it wasn't the kind of love that lasts, Sawyer needed something else, he needed someone having his back, trusting him, something that Kate never gave him, something that Kate always gave to Jack.
And even this still depends on everyone's points of view, because sure as a Sawyer/Juliet fan of course I'm telling this to you but I'm pretty sure Skate fans would think another thing, and it's prefecly okay because I'm sure they have a valid argument too. What matters here is that all of us can still get just well with each others, and respect each others no matter what we ship, or think, or whatever. If your argument is valid then it's ok, I might not agree with it, but I'll respect it. That's what matters IMO, and what it's absolutely NOT happening on the TVD spot lately.
And on a side note, Bamon fan that is a Damon fan first? Hello, I present myself, nice to meet you, yes I know I'm kind of one of a kind xD Damon fan first on the show, on the books, on everything. Weird, huh? XDDD
Aaaand I also agree there's LOTS of better couples to be called "of all the time", Ross and Rachel anyone? Sorry, huge Friends fan over here :P

As for Lost, I always shipped both Jate/Skate, but always preferred Jate. I usually go for couples like Skate, with the misunderstood guy/bad guy/forbidden love aspect. However, Lost was one show that I always thought Kate loved Jack more. I also didn't understand the Sawyer/Juliet love because it was a bit out of the blue but anyway..
I think your one of the first Bamon fans that I've spoken to that prefer Damon lol and yehh, even I can admit Delena aren't the best TV couple IMO at the moment, because I think for a couple to be the best "of all time" they have to have gone through a lot throughout a number of seasons, so IMO I don't think any of the couples in TVD can be the best "of all time" yet, after 2/3/4 seasons, I will evaluate then lol.
I actually shipped Skate first, but then Kate started annoying me, and I started seeing how much she didn't deserved Sawyer. I don't care about her or Jack at all, so I was ok with them being together XD They could be together and have babies, die in hell with Smokey, do whatever they wanted to, I still didn't cared XD I only cared about Sawyer, and then Juliet came, and she was also my fav fem character, and I never thought of them as a couple until I saw them being together on the island at the end of season 4, and then when it started happening they completely hooked me *-*
I kind of relate Sawyer/Juliet to Damon/Bonnie, IMO, but Idk, that depends on everyone like I said xD
I gotta say I adore Bonnie too. But Damon is def my fav. It's kind of like the same that on Lost, I don't care that much about Elena, I only care about her when she's with Stefan, like I really like her when she's with Stefan, and when she's not I'm just "whatever" about her XD I liked her better on the books, though. But anyway, since I love Stefan, and I love seeing him happy, I ship them XD Besides other stuff. And I'm one of those fans that defend Bonnie when no one does. Because I really don't get all the hate she's getting lately o.O But Damon still my fav, it's just that you don't really have to defend him because everyone likes him XDD

In the Show Damon is 23-25 and Elena is 17-18 it is not such a big age gap. and if the actor/actress is older is not in their control.

I don't want to be rude or evil, but honestly, I just hate them so much... If we talk about the best couple of all time they are soo not.... the show it's so new and the storyline of the triangle it's so boring and pathetic that even Stelena or Delena will never be called a Epic couple... I mean.. two brothers and one girl..... nothing of that sounds good... A girl who loves two brothers is just.... a wasted of time... Stefan and Damon will loose each other just for her...
They bore me to unprecedented levels. Which is probably due to the fact I don't like the sides of each other they bring out whenever they are on extended alone time.
I don't hate them, just... no interest. Complete aphaty. As far from my definition of epic you can possibly get.
