[TWENTY-TWO]
    I woke up later that night around midnight. I was laying in bed, covers kicked to the floor, cold and alone. It was dark, pitch black. And with every saat ticking away, it seemed as if the darkness got darker around me, and was engulfing me slowly. I was numb, parilyzed to the bed, I couldn't move. And just as the darkness started creeping up the bedside, the alarm clock went off and the bedroom door burst open. I jolted into an upright sitting position, the loud beeping filling my ears, a sillhouette in the doorway.
    "Hello?" I called.
    "Hello, Cyd." A deep voice replied, and stepped foot into the room. "Remember me?"
    I shook my head, the beeping growing much louder. "No."
    "Well, I'm surprised since your little boy toy staked me not too long ago." And then, the shadows swam away from his face, and the lights went on, casting all darkness under the katil and into the corners of the room, and his face lit up like the lights above me.
    "You're dead." I jumped started backing up against the headboard.
    "No, no, I can't be. Seeing how I'm right here, right now, with anda here...I can't be dead." The shadows covered his face again, and when they went away, Vi's face returned.
    "V-Vi?" I stammered.
    "Yes, dear?" She said, and smiled.
    Tears welled up in my eyes. "How can anda be...here?"
    "You see, death is a great thing. Death can grant anda many things. Death can let anda roam the shadow realms, the spirit worlds, the other dimensions, but with only one thing in return." She waited, wanting me to say 'and that is?'.
    "And that is?" I felt stupid after asking it, but I couldn't correct myself there.
    "Admitting that anda died for a purpose istead out of spite. Letting yourself believe that when your last breath was ripped from your soul, it was out of love, not out of a cold-blooded killing spree. I died for a purpose."
    "A deranged purpose." I said, and she laughed, the shadows crawling over her face, and her voice going from female to male.
    "How is it deranged, when I was killed sejak the one anda love?" It was Haus again.
    "He killed you, so anda wouldn't kill me, atau us." I corrected him and he laughed, walking to my side of the bed, the shadows falling off behind him.
    "No. He killed you, so he can kill anda himself." Haus smiled, and sat seterusnya to me on the bed.
    This was a dream, it had to be. "This is a dream. When I wake up, you'll be gone." I said, and shut my eyes.
    Silence followed.
    When I opened them, Haus was still seterusnya to me, shadow free, and full of an emotion I couldn't detect. Was it concern? I don't know.
    "Okay," I sat up fully. "How will Jerek kill me?"
    "He will kill anda slowly."
    "How exactly?" I asked. "How!?"
    "By hurting anda the only way he can." Haus looked down at his wrist, which was covered in shadows. "I have to go. It's time for anda to wake up."
    I hadn't realized the alarm clock's beeping stopped, and I looked at it. Still midnight. "Tell me!"
    "Good bye, Cydnee." He smiled, and the shadows that were on the floor behind him slithered up him and covered him back up. He walked backwards to the doorway, and the door closed slowly. I layed back down, the lights going out, turned on my side, and went back to sleep.
