Chapter One-
†
As I lay there, almost dead, my best friend, Valerie ran down the very large spiral staircase. “Cam! Cam!” She exclaimed, running to me, almost tripping on the last step to the whirling staircase. “No,” I berkata low, and weak. “I don’t want it, I will be okay.” I said, again weakly, tossing my head back on the bantal I was resting on. “No, anda will drink it and live, not don’t drink it and say anda will be fine, then die…for good. Here” She held out a little vile of blood. I took it, though I didn’t want to, I did. I was dying, I had no choice. I drank and felt better. I rose and handed the vile back to Valerie. I will need much lebih to hunt again. I was in a horrible fight with another vampire. It was actually very stupid. We were fighting over a human, we were both in need of blood, and there were plenty of other humans around to feast on, we were both just so desperate for blood. I was much weaker than the other vampire, so victory and the human were hers. “Well, I guess I should go out and try to hunt. The lebih blood the better.” I said, almost halfway up the steps (Vampires are super fast.). “You can’t feast! It is nearly two o’ clock! anda will die!” Valerie said, trying to stop me. “Well, I guess that means I should stay in the shade then huh?” I replied trying not to sound mean, but I needed to drink. I grabbed my jubah, berjubah on my way out the door. Surprisingly there was, and always will be a mirror sejak the door. It always bothered me that I couldn’t see what I looked like. Most Vampires don’t care about beauty, but I do. I sighed, put up my hood, and was off in cari of blood. As I was walking down the street, I started thinking about looks and reflections. There is one mirror that Vampires can look at themselves, when I first heard about it; I was determined to find it. Valerie has drawn pictures of me before; she was a very talented artist. I knew that what she drew was what was real; I just want to see for myself. I imagine I look like Val: dark brown hair that reaches her elbows (Actually, I know this because I can see It.), small petite face with light grey eyes. I knew I was slim and thin, most Vampires were, and we don’t gain weight easily. I knew I was taller than her, we were both short, but I was taller. I tried looking into the glass windows of the shops and bakeries lined up and down the streets, I saw no reflection. I walked into the Inn at the very end of town; there were only a few people in the lobby, I walked right to the rooms. Will enhanced senses; I could hear if people were sleeping, if they were heavy sleepers, and which type of blood they have. I realized it was pretty late in the afternoon, so a lot of people would be awake. So I did what I did best, and lied. I knocked on the door, three lebih times. “Hello?” A lady from inside asked. I panicked; I didn’t know what to say. “Hello?” She asked again. “I ummmm, could I please come in?” I didn’t think she would let me in. Then the door opened. A lady in her late forties answered the door. She had light brown hair that came down to her shoulders. “Oh my! anda look awful, please, please come inside and sit.” She moved her body so I could come in; right away I sat on one of the three chairs sejak the window. I was so comfortable, soft, and fluffy. Yet, I was so small and petite-I sank right into the chair. Every couple saat I would lift my body up off of the chair and then sit back down. “What has happened to you? I must know.” I had to think of something fast. “Well, umm, I was walking down one of the many back roads in this town, and a group of people just came out of nowhere and started attacking me. I got away when my horse reared up in its hind legs and scared them off.” That was the best thing I could think of. “Oh my, why didn’t anda go utama to your parents? Why here?” She asked. Then I started thinking about it, why didn’t I go utama to Valerie? Oh, yeah it was a lie. I was starting to believe my story myself. “I have no parents, just a sister. We live at the old istana, castle at on the hill. She wasn’t home, and the door was locked. Why I came here I do not know. I just needed help.” I said, hoping she would believe it. “You came all the way to the end of town just for help? The infirmary is just houses away from that hill. And your parents left? You’re a very young girl…how old exactly?” She asked. “I am uh, seventeen.” I was trying to think of my human age, I was seventeen when I was blooded. It was just a few hours after my birthday. It was a choice I couldn’t turn away. My cake had been poisoned. My mother had already perished. My father was minit away from death, though I had time, I still would have died. I was blooded right there. My vampire age was only about one hundred years old. I had the body of a seventeen tahun old. “Seventeen and no parents? I must say, I feel sorry for you, I really do.” The woman had a sad look on her face, I couldn’t take blood from her, I just couldn’t. “Ummmm, I must go, my sister is expecting me back soon.” I said, and started walking out the door. “Wait!” The woman said. I looked back at her. “I am living with you! anda have no parents; I will take care of anda and your sister.” She smiled at me like she had thought up some brilliant plan. “OK,” I faked a smile. “You can meet me at my house once anda check out. anda obviously know where it is.” I berkata then started walking again.
“Actually, I am leaving today I’m sure I can talk with the manager and get him to let me check out early.”
“No, anda don’t have to do that, my sister and I can wait. Enjoy the rest of your stay.”
“OK fine, but I will be at anda house at five o’ clock. Be ready.”
“Five, OK. Bye.”
I shut the door, put up my hud, hood again, and ran back to my house. I had to watch my speed. Vampires had an ability to run at incredible speeds, it’s not like anyone could see me, but we couldn’t stop right away, we have to slow down gradually. “Val!” I screamed as I ran down the twisting staircase. “Val, I went to town to feed on someone, there was this lady. I was going to make her pass out, then drink, but she started talking to me and guess what?” I said, panting every few seconds.
“What?” Valerie answered.
“She’s going to live with us! Not like I want her to bu-”
“Camilla Jones!” Valerie said, cutting me off.
“You can’t bring a human into our house! You’re going to have to kill her!” She said, looking lebih serious than ever.
“I am aware of that.”
“Okay, when is she coming over, I need to plan and prepare.”
“Ummmm, five.”
“Five! That’s like an jam from now!”
“Well…too bad! Let her see the house like this! Maybe she’ll buy us stuff!”
“Cam…”
I walked away without saying anything. I was trying to think of what to say to this lady, what to do, most importantly…how to kill her.
