Chapter 9 – Bad Day
That night, she had some extra time, so she went on Facebook on her father’s computer in the half-basement. There, she messaged Kevin, for a new idea had occurred to her sometime while she was at home. She told him that since now he talked to Daniel about her, maybe he could introduce her tomorrow morning to him. He would introduce her as the girl who wrote the novel that he had showed him. It seemed to be a flawless plan. sejak Kevin talking to Daniel about her book, he had telah diberi her an excuse to talk to him. Anastasia half-smiled at this realization.
In the seterusnya morning, Kevin wasn’t there right away. She stood beside Patricia, and old fears began to catch up to her. What if he ditched her when he was supposed to introduce them, like Ginny had done a while back? Everyday the same cycle always occurred.
But soon, Kevin did tunjuk up. It was right before Daniel was going to walk by. She nudged him, and before he walked by, Kevin berkata a few words to him. Daniel replied, only slowing down his pace a little to talk, and Anastasia watched with blank thoughts as she was still beside Patricia. Even though Kevin and Daniel were near her, she could not hear a word they were saying; they were speaking too low. She tried not to look at Daniel either as they spoke.
Kevin and Daniel’s quick exchange only lasted a few seconds, and before Anastasia knew it, the beautiful boy had kept walking on.
“What happened?” Anastasia asked. “What did anda say?”
“I berkata ‘here’s Anastasia’, and he berkata that he can’t help right now,” Kevin replied. “But why didn’t anda say HI?”
“I don’t know!” Anastasia yelled. “I couldn’t hear a word anda guys were saying!”
“But still! anda should’ve berkata ‘hi’,” Kevin pointed out.
“Well, I just didn’t know, okay?” she said. “My thoughts went blank!”
She was starting to become a little angry. Not at Kevin, but at herself. Everything was her fault. It always seemed like everything always boiled down to Anastasia.
Patricia berkata to her, “Look. I’m going to teach anda what anda should have done.”
Then she started explaining to Anastasia the steps of what she should have done, using Kevin as the ‘Daniel’ in her example. On bahagian, atas of the anger, annoyance began to form inside of her. She already knew what she should have done, and she already understood that everything was her fault. She announced over Patricia’s speech, “I’m going to go, ’cause I’m getting mad.”
Something went off in Patricia’s mind. “Oh no! Okay, look. I’m sorry. That was mean of me.”
“It’s okay,” Anastasia muttered.
She didn’t leave like she berkata she was, and decided to stick around for a little while longer until she had to go to class. Kevin pointed out to her that it should be her seterusnya who had to talk to him; that she had to go up to him herself and start talking. Anastasia pursed her lips at this. It always came down to this. She knew that in the end it was most likely what she had to do, but she had trouble letting it sink in her mind.
The rest of the hari didn’t turn out to be any better.
Before Math class, Anastasia stood outside in the hallway with Ginny; talking and looking at the crowds of students that passed by. When her best guy friend, Nathan, was about to walk past her to enter the classroom, he walked up to her and said, “Anastasia, I can’t come to your Sweet Sixteen.”
She blinked in surprise. “What? Are anda serious?”
Her friend was known for joking around.
“Yeah, I’m serious,” Nate clarified with a grimace. “Your party is on my sister’s birthday weekend, and my mom won’t let me go. I’m sorry.”
Anastasia was saddened at this news. He was one of her bahagian, atas Friends since she was in seventh grade. Him not coming to her party was going to suck. He was also supposed to be the one to escort her to her father on the dance floor when she had to dance with him. Traditionally, a boyfriend is supposed to walk the birthday girl to her father. Since she didn’t have one, she had asked Nate to be her escort. Now since he wasn’t coming, she would have to find somebody else.
“That’s okay,” she replied, but her extreme disappointment came through to her voice.
“I’ll continue to try to persuade my mom for me to go,” he told her.
“Yeah, do that.”
She gave him a dispirited smile as he walked away to enter the classroom. Nothing was turning out the way she planned for anything.

Hello! Here's a little poem I wrote a couple of months ago! Tell me what anda think. :)
“Moon To My Night”
anda are the moon to my night
A bright shining star
Your brilliance is light
And beautiful anda are
anda are the sun to my day
Like a bird anda fly
I cannot stay away
I wouldn’t even try
anda are the warmth to my summer
A bunga that blossoms in the spring
My hati, tengah-tengah pounds like a drummer
When anda start to sing
anda are the first bintang to my night’s eve
On my hati, tengah-tengah anda leave a shining mark
From now on I will forever believe
That anda will always light my dark
“Moon To My Night”
anda are the moon to my night
A bright shining star
Your brilliance is light
And beautiful anda are
anda are the sun to my day
Like a bird anda fly
I cannot stay away
I wouldn’t even try
anda are the warmth to my summer
A bunga that blossoms in the spring
My hati, tengah-tengah pounds like a drummer
When anda start to sing
anda are the first bintang to my night’s eve
On my hati, tengah-tengah anda leave a shining mark
From now on I will forever believe
That anda will always light my dark
