Something I wrote proving just how human Tara really is. No one get mad please.
She sat against the mountain's chest, watching the hawks soar in the air. She heard the sound of feet on gravel and dirt. Becca sat beside her. For a few minutes, the two girls just sat in silence, watching the hawks. Then Becca turned to her.
“How'd anda get way out here? The base is a good hundred miles from here.”
She shrugged.
“I have my ways.”
“I uh found out what happened. That Silver was taken. That anda were there. And then anda were off the radar for a solid week, even when Silver came back.”
She stayed silent, watching the hawks.
“Alek told me anda were pretty harsh when anda left. Something about never trusting someone who might have a plan atau whatever. That didn't sound like you.”
She shrugged again, brushing it off. Silence came again.
“What made anda change?”
The two turned to look at each other and Becca couldn't miss the almost hard vulnerability in Tara's brown eyes.
“He told me to trust him. He wanted me to. But I didn't. I couldn't. He put Silver in harm's way then saved the enemy.”
“So? What's the problem?”
“He was willing to risk everything on the one chance that he could get her back.”
Becca bit her lip.
“I see.”
“Becca, it made grow cold inside.”
“But Alek isn't like that. He's different.”
“Everyone told me that. The first time. And I ended up scarred.”
“Tara-”
“I admit that I started liking Alek, Becca. A part of me still kinda does. I don't know what that means atau leads to. But I will tell anda this. I will not be used.”
“So how does Ciel fit into this?”
Tara put her hands in her head.
“At the moment, I can't be sure. I....I just can't sort my emotions right now.”
“Tara just know that you'll have to choose. Him atau them. The team atau your memories.”
