This was it. I couldn't take it anymore. Robin's memories nearly cut me down, but this one would destroy me altogether. My face burned against the heat from the Pit, and the tears quickly turned to gas.
The others, Megan, Superboy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Artemis... they were there too. This was one memory that brought us all together. Somewhere at the edge of the mountain was Jason Todd and Ra's Al-Ghul, fighting like they did last time. My stomach churned as my eyes withheld the glowing, green liquid. It was there did I lose everything.
A groan escaped from Robin, and I turned and aided him. I cupped his face in my hands and said, "We'll get out of here, don't worry, Tim."
"Oh, you'll get out of here soon enough," berkata an all-too-familiar voice.
I turned around, and there stood Jason Todd, his dagger inches from my face. "So long, Avatar--"
His sentence was interrupted sejak a loud ripping noise. The body of Jason Todd fell apart, rustling down beside me, and Scarecrow emerged, his straw mask and clothes attracting the green light from the pit. He grabbed me sejak the hand, and with the strength of Superman, threw me across the mountain. My body slammed into an outer wall, letting out blood curdling echoes.
"ERICA!" Robin yelled, but Scarecrow stepped on his face, muffling him.
"Ah, the sweet sound of young love." His jagged teeth twisted into a menacing smile, making my hear stop beating for a second. He floated over the pit and landed before me, towering. "Did anda think that anda would just destroy my serums and go, weakling?" He kicked me, and I rolled down the series of sharp rocks and pebbles.
When I finally stopped, a throbbing in my head started, drowning out most of the noise. Kill me now, I begged silently.
He grabbed me sejak the neck and hung me over the pit, the acid just a few meters from my toes. "I studied anda very well, Erica Richards. The Avatar, master of all elements, stooping down so low. A much honorable Avatar would've died losing their powers, but not you. anda still lived while another Avatar breathed. How shameful could that be?"
"DON'T LISTEN TO HIM ERICA!" Robin roared, but was silenced at a wave of Scarecrow's hand. His grip on my throat tightened, but he didn't let go.
"Don't anda think my theatrical ability is superb? Why, I brought anda two through all of your most dreadful memories!" He looked at the team, which disappeared with a poof! noise. "Any moment now, your hearts will stop, and anda can sertai your parents up in what they call Heaven."
My hands shot up to my neck, wrestling against his. His hands were like iron bars, not budging at any force thrown at it.
"Now..." he bellowed, "you will witness your death once again, Avatar. No plan B's this time!"

And in the saat that followed, he let go of me.
