As we hop off the tube at North Greenwich, we feel a funny pang of pride in our hearts. We\'re off to see 5 Seconds of Summer play the first of two sell out shows at London\'s O2 Arena. Y\'know, those boys who once covered our faces in \'Shrek green\' makeup and brought a whole new meaning to the legacy of the RMS Titanic. We\'re hit with the realisation that they\'ve gone from playing the 200-capacity Barfly in Camden to an arena full of 20,000 fangirls and it\'s all a bit...emotional.
Yup - the Sounds Live Feels Live tour\'s finally hit the UK, and obviously we had to toddle along to their first date in the capital to make sure we\'re still into Michael, Calum, Ashton and Calum.
We\'ve been lucky enough to catch the lads live loads of times since they first played the O2 as One Direction\'s \'special guests; so let\'s see how the Sounds Live Feels Live show compares, shall we?

Okay, so it\'s fair to say it was more of a spectacle than the odd few cans of paint and lawn mower hanging round Ashton\'s garage back in the day. When it comes to staging, these boys don\'t do things by halves. The screens were insane (always appreciate the little cam on Ash\'s drum kit while he\'s banging one out at the back), the lighting was lit (in both senses of the word) and there was even a little catwalk-y bit the boys would step onto whenever they wanted to send the front pit\'s pulses racing more than they already were.
This show\'s BIG; and while there was no pyro for obvious reasons the scale of everything more than made up for it. Kinda gave us old school Green Day vibes, too.
With shitloads of new songs since the Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour, there\'s always that very real fear one of your forever faves is gonna get cut. Y\'all saw what happened when we first found out \'Heartbreak Girl\' was the first victim, right? Thankfully, though, the boys seem to know exactly what we want and did a bloody good job of mixing all those fetus feels with the Sounds Good Feels Good stuff.
Don\'t get us wrong, we properly miss the likes of \'Kiss Me Kiss Me\' and \'18,\' but we were desperate to hear loads of the new album and that\'s what we got. It\'s kinda funny how well \'Disconnected\' still works alongside \'Money\' and stuff. Also they were *so* frickin\' good at the whole \'BAM! Here\'s a fetus song, BAM! Here\'s a brand spankin\' new song, BAM! Here\'s a debut album song\' thing. A right little emotional rollercoaster, it was.
5SOS tonight though 🙌🏼 (most of the gig\'s on our Snapchat story rn. Username: Sugarscape)
Er, how long have you got? We\'ll at least try to summarise so y\'all can get on with your lives:
Ashton pointing out the \'let\'s play Titanic\' banner down the front. Iconic.
\'Bangers and Mash\' - a new track exclusively for the UK leg and, we\'re hoping, the next single. Basically it\'s the new \'Pizza.\'
\'Good Girls,\' just \'cos it\'s \'Good Girls.\'
The talk of the Loch Ness monster in the Thames. Topical.
The crowd interaction in general, actually. The boys have got that DOWN.
\'Jet Black Heart\' and \'Amnesia\' gave us actual chills. Hearing a 20,000-strong crowd singing \'I remember the teardrops running down your faaaace\'? GAH.
D\'ya know what? We\'re gonna say \'Permanent Vacation\' was the absolute fan fave. NA NA NA NA NA NA NA etc. etc.
Sorry, we don\'t understand. Bits that weren\'t so good? 5SOS? Same sentence? Nah.
EXCLUSIVE of the new 5SOS single, er, Bangers and Mash. Check out our Snapchat (username: Sugarscape) for more 😍
We\'re not even sure how they manage it, but these boys sound better *and* feel better every time we see \'em. The shows still feel as personal and engaging as they did back in the theatre tour days despite the fact the 5SOSFam\'s recruited a fair few new fangirls along the way; and we reckon the boys could totally slay the stadiums next. They\'re ready for it. The tunes are anthemic, the crowds are crazy as ever and we can\'t wait to see them step things up a notch with album three.
OH OH OH also wanna relive our Snapchat story to see exactly what went down? HERE YOU GO:
What d\'ya make of that, then? Seen the boys live this time round yet? THOUGHTS? Tweet us over @sugarscape and all that malarky, please. Ta.
