Well my answer would be......... Izaya hates Shizo because Shizuo is like an animal and can't hold him self back :P He Loves messing with Shizuo but he still hates him.... And Shizuo Just plan hate's Izaya!! LOL And really there isn't a 100% Reason why they hate each other so much but, there are little things that affect it along the way,(: I hope that helps!! <3

actually there is a reason Shizuo hates Izaya, remember when those policemen ganged up on Shizuo ? Izaya framed him and that really pissed off Shizuo, since then even Izaya's presence throws him off
Izaya just hate's Shizuo's way of life. The fact he act's like an Animal just disgusts Izaya and he can't hold him self back from laughing at him.
Have anda even seen an episode of Durarara!!? Name a time when Izaya got angry at Shizuo. That's right, never. Izaya always teases Shizuo and Runs away from him. He just thinks it's fun to see him angry like that.
I think the reason why Izaya hates shizuo is that he doesn't have expressions that Izaya "loves" to see from human.. and the way that shizuo reacts to Izaya doesn't amuse him ...he can only deeply express anger ...which is kinda boring..for izaya who wants to see different reactions each time he pulls-out something on shizuo ...and maybe its how predictable shizuo's reactions are .. and how izaya can't get rid of him..and maybe he's annoyed with how inhuman shizuo is...also to mention that simon once berkata that Izaya has shizuo-complex ...he doesn't like to lose to shizuo ,so he tries everything to crush him.
I'm sure this was up at least a tahun ago. But I'm gonna go on anyway. It's basically canon that Izaya is somewhat fixated on Shizuo based on jealousy. Izaya pictures Shizuo as a monster and wants other people to recognise him as such. Izaya is jealous sejak the fact that people interact with him and gets annoyed when our favourite bartender actually shows maturity and intelligence. The most upsetting thing to Izaya is that even though Shizuo tries to isolate himself he still gains Friends while he himself is shunned due to his... mental enjoyment, etc. He probably pretends to not care but probably still wants to sertai in as shown in the "hot pot" scene. Izaya also wants to feel lebih human - his method to gain this was to kill Shizuo under the ideology that only humans can slay monsters.
