Buffy Summers Soalan

I read somewhere that Buffy's real name was, Elizabeth "Buffy" Anne Summers. Is this true?

Somebody on a Buffy peminat site told me that Buffy's real name was Elizabeth "Buffy" Anne Summers and that Buffy was just a nickname that stuck, is this true because I am not sure. He also berkata that Joss confirmed it but I have searched the net and can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help me?

Nope, at no poin throughout the series do they say that her real name is Elizabeth, the first time we find out her full name is in the season 3 episode 'Anne' because her full name is Buffy Anne Summers!

Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother for instance was called Buffy sejak her family.
Saying all that, though, Im pretty certain that Buffy Anne Summers is her full name in the series, and is how it would be on her birth certificate if she was a real person.
Its not that uncommon for peoples real full name to be a shortened/diminutive form of another.
