speculation about Damon possibly leaving Mystic Falls at some point during the season. 

We have seen what happened when Damon's out of town. 3x05 and 3x22 are proof of that.

I'm on board with this theory because I agree that the ppl of Mystic Falls, not just Elena but especially her, need to realize how much Damon is not appreciated. I'm not saying it will happen and if doesn't I'm fine with it, but at this point it's going to take something big (not necessarily this but this is a good idea) to make Elena finally realize what she really feels for Damon if all their amazing scenes so far haven't. I think that Damon leaving could finally open her eyes...and I mean they could make time pass in one ep., a couple days or something. Make Elena see, and everyone see. Damon wouldn't even have to be gone a whole ep. to do this..and he could still have scenes wherever he went temporarily.
