Siren-Lamia picked Belle:
She took the place of her father as prisoner to beast when she had no clue as to how he would treat her.

^^...r u sirius? I'm beginning to think you chose her because of favoritism but whatever...
All the princesses done some small brave stuff, but Mulan? SHE WENT ALL OUT WAR. She went to war, took the place of her father so HE wouldn't go, and she's been the hero- TWICE. Four times if you count the sequel. (In the original she saved some of the men in the avalanche and she saved all of China later.)

No Belle is most certainly not my favorite at all. But she said came to mind first and I more recently saw her movie so she was more fresh in my mind.

Her courage is her defining feature. She goes to war, risking everything, her life, honor, EVERYTHING for her father without any possibility (in her mind, at least) that she will get anything out of it. She had been told her entire life that she, as a woman, would not be able to survive doing "men's work" of army life and war. She most likely went into it thinking she would die, or something else of that ilk. And she was going to do it all with no hope of personal gain. I've always found her bravest, and I still do.

@hajirah4: Belle is definitely brave, are you seriously saying she's not?! Just because people aren't choosing the 'obvious' answer it doesn't mean they're biased or wrong. You did something similar in the 'smartest' poll too, I chose Jasmine but didn't want to comment because of your sarcastic/mocking comment about Poca/Jas.

Oh and "first comes to mind" doesn't mean the answer is correct, as such. Belle first came to my mind in the "stubborn" poll but I'm not 100% sure if she IS the most stubborn or not, maybe Jasmine and/or Ariel would beat her. But Belle came to mind first.

Indeed Mulan. Next would be Pocahontas.
Oh and Mongoose09 I agree with you, the first who comes one's mind doesn't have to be the "right" princess.

Belle is far from being my favourite, but it wouldn't be rational of me to not give a credit where it's due: she WAS incredibly brave. She willingly took her father's place with a seeming perspective of never being able to see the daylight or keep on leading an appropriate and normal life again, subjecting herself to a life long imprisonment. Later she standed up to Beast multiple times and attempted - almost succeeding and only choosing to return because Beast saved her life and she felt obligated to help him in return - to escape confronting a pack of hungry wolves in the process. Frankly, Belle and Rapunzel are tied for a second position in regards to bravery in my books, Rapunzel does surpass Belle though in terms of an immense emotional conflict and struggle she had to undergo when facing the world she not only had never been exposed to previously but systematically and effectively brainwashed into being completely and entirely terrified of, lacking any sort of individual experience or knowledge/information beyond Gothel's emotionally abusive, verbally pressuring and deliberately destructive tacticts specifically directed at causing and maintaining various anxieties regarding Rapunzel's psyche in order to keep her isolated, dependent and sheltered, the ones she had to put an enomous amount of effort into overcoming later on. Mulan does objectively and stably hold a first position in the brave departement though, because none of the princesses willingly went to war (read: to death) for the sake of others. Ariel did subject herself to a significant risk multiple times in order to save Eric though, however, in terms of the inner struggles and emotional conflicts those three girls got more of a solid and consistent material to work with.
