In the early 90's Robin Hood: Men and Tights was a hit because (as the ads said) "The Legend had it coming." And really, we know Dracula had it coming too.
Mel Brooks had huge hits in the 70s with Blazzing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. The Producers, a film that nearly disappeared because the studio didn't believe in it is now praised as one of the funniest films of it's time and became a hit musical on broadway.
And in the 90s we were treated to these two great parody movies. Comparisons to Blazzing Saddles and Young Frankenstein were inevitable. But in the years since, we've seen too...
