What if your OCs had Superpowers?
Think about it... If your OCs had Superpowers, what would they be? It's not necessary that anda SHOULD have Superpowers for your OC. Depends on you. I don't find it necessary either, but in case anyone needs these ideas for a new Fan-fiction, they might be useful.
For Amber, I think she may have the Powers over Crystals as it Suits her.
She will manipulate Crystals, atau transform into one. She can target enemies with various kinds of Crystals she wants. But her favourite attacks are of Amber, Morganite, Amethyst and zamrud, emerald Crystals. Basically, she'll use her Crystals as Darts to shoot enemies, use them as Crystal-weapons, atau to trap someone in her Crystal Prison.
She doesn't have control over the Colours of her Crystals, though (only when her deep Emotions interfere with them). Mostly, when she's angry, her Crystals turn red (like Almandine Garnet atau Ruby). When sad, they turn white atau transparent (like Diamonds atau Hambergite). When extremely happy, her Crystal powers turn Green atau Blue. Her Crystals are really hard to break. Only she can break them, sejak melting the Crystals with her mind atau sejak poking them with her Flipper, making a 'Clinging' sound. Acid can slightly wear off her Crystals as well.
Ivory may have the Power over Sounds atau Music. She can attack Enemies with sound waves. Another special attack includes that when she plays a song in her mind, her enemies can hear it too. She can also mute her own volume to a certain level, especially when she's sneaking around, so as not to be heard. She might mimic someone's else's voice, too. Her and Amber's powers are similarly neutral... making it impossible to defeat one another.

Remember: They don't have these powers for real, they're normal Penguins. These are only imaginations... if they were Ninjas!
