How do I win the 'Magic Counter' materia at the Choco Races?

I actually started playing this game when I was about 17 (I'm 28 now) and still have not finished it because I want to collect all the materia before I do so. I haven't played it in years but still have my PS1 for the sole reason that I will finish it at some point!

I can never get the 'Magic Counter' materia though, I know it's a prize at the Choco races but no matter how many times I bet on races atau race I never win it.

My sources say that to get Magic Counter, anda need to find it in the "Wintry forest" I have no idea what these means, but other sources say that anda could find it in "Chocobo plaza." so maybe its not after anda win the race autimatically, maybe anda have to cari around for it a little.

First of all tell princess to hit the road cuz she has no clue what anda are talking about not even sure shes talking about the correct game. anda can only get it at the golden saucer racing chocobos. After anda win S-class so many times anda get a prize pack...it has 6 of the best items they offer but not magic counter. After anda win the prize pack it becomes eligible to win as a regular prize...but anda still have to wait for it to pop up as a prize and have to hope if anda do win the race that the numbers match the correct symbol too. Takes luck and perseverance to get this materia.
