)So Harry dates Cho an Asian girl, has a flirtation with a biracial girl in a cafe… and then gets into a relationship with, Ginny, a nice washed out white girl.

Harry does like Cho, actually, but he realizes it can't work. Cho is going through emotional problems and Harry is too blunt and ignorant to understand what type of attention she needs. Cho is also probably the most popular girl at Hogwarts and she's described to be very pretty. Cedric, who is also popular, went out with her and Roger Davies, who went to the Yule Ball with a veela, asked her out. The girl at the cafe didn't know much about Harry and she didn't know that he was a wizard, and it would be a complicated relationship since Harry would have to explain all the rules and regulations and would have to tell her in a certain way so she wouldn't be surprised or afraid. She wasn't in the books - not because Rowling is racist, but because she wasn't important and Rowling wanted to focus more on the plot. Ginny has been in his life for a long time, so he knows a lot about her and knows how she behaves and reacts to things. They have similar interests and beliefs, which is why he went out with her and discovered he had feelings.

2)Ginny dates Dean Thomas, played by a Black? Biracial? boy who makes her cry a lot… then gets into a relationship with a nice, white Harry Potter.

Ginny didn't break up with him because he made her cry - it just wasn't working out and Dean had a different perspective than her, which happens to many people, doesn't matter what race. She went out with Harry because again, they were similar in many ways and she knew him for a long time.

3)All the leads are white. There are very few people of colour with speaking roles in the movie. This has been true of ALL of the Harry Potter movies… but it felt even more marked in this one. The biracial girl in the cafe was not in the books that I remember… maybe the film-makers were trying to write more people of colour into the movie.

The leads are mostly white because this takes place in Europe, which is where more Cocasion people live. That explains the main leads because it's natural for more white people to live in Britain, Scotland, etc. There were actually people of different races in the books: Parvati and Padma Patil, Cho Chang, Angelina Johnson, Dean Thomas, etc.

Women issues:

1)Remus and Tonks together SUCKS. It is so disgusting to see a gorgeous, vibrant young woman be put into a relationship with a gross, boring old man.

It doesn't suck in my opinion. It's not trying to show us that wonderful women end up with horrid men, quite different actually. Remus has never fallen in love because of his problem and he doesn't trust himself to be with anyone, but Tonks changed that. She showed him that she would love him no matter what and she didn't care about his secret, she liked him for who he was. This shows a strong message and Tonks is shown to be a very good role-model; you shouldn't judge someone based on where they're from or what they've had to deal with, you should love them because of who they are and who they continue to be.

2)Hermione pining after brain-dead Ron???? Yeah right. That wasn’t believeable in the books… it sure as hell isn’t believeable in the movies.

What are you talking about? In both HBP and DH, Hermione shows that she cares about Ron just like he cares about her. She's hurt that he would leave both her and Harry in such crucial times, but at the same time she feels bitter that he's gone - and she may never see him again. Such things do happen to people, and it's not showing that Hermione is weak - no, it's showing that Ron was wrong and Hermione was deeply hurt, just like anyone would be in that situation.

3)Ginny got onto the Quidditch team too, right??? She is supposed to be a really brilliant Seeker and Chaser. Why did we only get shots of Ron heroically getting hit by the Quaffle over and over??? Where were all the shots of Ginny with the Quaffle scoring goals for the team??? Oh, that’s right, women’s acheivements and herorism really isn’t comparable to the wonderfulness of stupid men.

Ginny wasn't important the plot and she wasn't described to be an amazing player in the movies, so they showed Ron instead - to show his devolpment from someone who's quite lazy and wants to sit all day to someone who wants to be athletic and more involved. There are many women in the series who have done outstanding things; Lily who gave up her life for Harry - which is the only reason he stayed alive. If she hadn't done that, where would the wizarding world be? Bellatrix who is Voldemort's best Death-Eater and has remained loyal to him. Voldemort even cried out in surprise when she passed away, something he never does. Narcissa who lied about Harry, putting her own life in danger. If she hadn't done that, Voldemort would have won. Luna who thought of the Thestrals in OotP and she's the one who taught everyone to be open-minded and loving. Madame Maxine, who is brave and knows just as much as Hagrid. Fluer, who was in the Tri-wizard tournament and accepted Harry with open arms on DH. Molly, who has always been friendly to everyone and has accepted everyone - who fought as hard as she possibly could. Angelina Johnson, who became the Quidditch leader after Oliver left.

You can't forget HERMIONE, who saved the boy's butts all the time. I can't even list them all - she was smart and she didn't obsess over things like dresses and make-up. She was strong and determined, and although she was discriminated against, she didn't let that get to her and her judgement. She even fought to save House Elf rights, a magical creature that no one even cared about.

As you can see, there are many achievements the women have made, but it's tiring to list them all.

The End xD

Anti: Noun--one that is opposed

Racist: Noun--a person who believes that one race should control all others

So...wouldn't anti-racist be a good thing? Someone who is against racism? How is Harry Potter racist? Really? So George Weasley marrying and having kids with Angelina Johnson was racist? And I really don't get how HP is anti-feminist either. Like DL so brilliantly wrote, I don't think I have to explain any further on these subjects. She said everything I wanted to say and more. Good job DL :]

I agree with everything DracoLuver said. I'd also like to point out that I think it's funny that this person claims to be a feminist, and then gets upset that Hermione and Tonks don't stereotypically fall for the guys society thinks they should fall for. Hermione should fall for a confident, quiet, rich guy who's just as smart as her and she doesn't. She falls for the goofy, klutzy, completely un-confident, caring, loyal Ron who isn't as smart as her.

Tonks should fall for a muscular, strong, energetic man her own age and she doesn't. She falls for studious, quite, slim, loyal, brave, older Remus who constantly feels guilty.

I don't think Hermione ever "pined" for Ron. She loves him but she sure showed him that if he didn't want anything to do w/ her, he could go to hell for all she cares. She DO have her priorities strait, no matter what Ron says. she's quite independent too, remember she practically took over when the two (Harry and Ron) were bickering and whining about lack of something to eat. She's the one who always keeps a cool head.
