Symbelmine Well, that´s not funny at all that she is not a part of Middle Earth and still is in the movie.

Articuno224 hmmm... Why is it a problem that she isn't in the books? That's not a good reason for disliking someone! They added a new character they didn't remove anyone... it's only improvement... and all the original characters were added before the middle earth universe even existed! And also remember that if movies didn't change anything from a book the book readers would have no surprises and they would know everything... then what's the point?

Symbelmine The reason why I don´t like her isn´t that she is made up. I don´t like that type of female characters. They are too cliche, too Hollywood and fanfiction like. She doesn´t resemble female elves Tolkien wrote but Mary Sue. Plus all the made up romance with Kili and jealous Legolas is awful. I don´t expect the movie to be exactly the same as the book. It´s not even possible but I don´t think non-canon character should have such a big role in the movie and be so strongly promoted everywere. Some extra characters to support the story are okay but PJ is going too far this time.
