So basically my country won their first game at the world cup after 12 years of not participating, and the whole nation just went INSANE!!! It was like we’ve already won the whole damn thing, which we obviously haven’t. :P We’re usually not so fanatic about our country, but football/soccer does the trick ;P

Anyway, since I always assume the rest of the world doesn’t even know we exist, I’ve always wondered what other countries think/know about us. So just write anything down that comes to your mind: where it is is located, languages we speak, politics, any cities you know of, famous people, sports, food, history, colors of our flag,… anything!
And if you don’t know anything at all, that’s okay, I completely understand! ☺ I’d rather have you saying the truth, than to search the internet, or looking at the answers of other members.
You’d make me very happy by doing this little thing. ☺

oh, and FUN FACT: Audrey Hepburn & Johnny Galecki (Leonard on The Big Bang Theory) were both born in Belgium! Woooohooo!!!

Well since Belgium has a frontier with France (northern frontier), I know a bit about your country :) and I went there twice, once in Brussels and the other in Bruges :)
So what I know.
Brussels is the capital city of Belgium, and the European Parliament is established there. And there's a part of the building that is accessible for tourists (I went there and it was great)
I think there's three main languages in the country : French and Dutch for sure and I think the last one is German but I'm not sure :s) and the country uses euros. You have a king but I don't know his name but it's a constitutional monarchy. Football is the main sport I guess (like in the rest of Europe :p) but maybe rugby is really popular? and I knew about not competing for the World Cup for like forever :p It was even mentioned here in the news (well sports news :p)
As for the flag there are 3 vertical stripes : black, yellow, red. I only know 3 cities in Belgium: Brussels so like I said the capital, Bruges who is situated in the west and really kept the Medieval parts and Liege which when a was a kid thought it was situated in France but no it's in Belgium (but to be fair it was French before I think :p)
The food now: you have the best french fries. Seriously the best I've ever eaten :D but the country is usually known for its beer (which is also great. That means something from me because I usually don't like beer.) and its mussels. It's a cliché to eat mussels and French fries in Belgium :p
As for famous people I don't know really except that there's a famous Belgian cartoonist Hergé that created Tintin :D

languages: Dutch in the northern hemisphere (which is also called Flanders, and that's where I live ;D), French in the south (which is called Wallonia), and the German speaking community in the east, that's very small and nobody even pays attention too. ;P So I'm surprised you guys knew that! :)

food: Chocolate, french fries, waffles & beer are OURS!!! We don't have a lot, but at least we own the food ;P French fries & mussels are a very common dish here, but I'd say the mussels of the Netherlands are better.

flag: Often mixed up with the German flag, because they both have black, yellow & red but ours are vertical stripes and German has horizontal. I'm guessing they have the same colors because our first king was from Germany
