I'm trying to convince my BFF to watch the Lord of the Rings, how do anda think i should go about it?

Honsestly I don't think convincing my BFF will be that hard, but her mom thinks LOTR is evil cuz Gandalf's a wizard. I really wanna tunjuk them the first half of the first part but i have no idea how to convince her mom to let her and her lil' bro. Any ideas? Thanks!
