I always figured it was Jace's way of sarcasticly saying that anda don't have to put up with any shit from others; like if anda asked for oranges then anda shouldn't have to settle for lemons, anda know? I could be wrong, lol.

I agree with the above answer. He's saying that instead of making the best of the situation, anda should fight until anda get what anda want and not settle for anything less.
