Ausiello: Given the reduction in “cases of the week” in Season 2 — and the overarching emphasis on the Haspstall trial — we asked showrunner Pete Nowalk if there’ll be a similar blueprint for Season 3. “I like switching it up, honestly,” says Nowalk. “I don’t want the show to become stale. In the back half of Season 2, we had so much emphasis on Rose’s case that there wasn’t room for cases of the week. We’ll probably try to do a balance.” Whatever approach wins out in the writers’ room, though, Nowalk says there’s one thing about HTGAWM that will remain a constant: “I love watching Annalise do her job in any way. How can they expect fans to turn in to a Castle re-boot without Beckett? They should just give us a happy ending for Rick and Kate, then do a true spin off with a new title, a new premise, and new cast. If they make this too painful, many fans will turn away from any attempt to make a positive out of the negative situation that is the loss of a beloved character like Beckett. It may have worked for Grey’s Anatomy because they have such a big ensemble cast with several story lines going on-but Castle has always been totally about Rick & Kate together, not apart. I just don’t see how they can spin it in a way that will be something we want to watch after they’ve disappointed us so much.

I agree! I have the Castle series on Amazon. I will not watch the returns anymore, if they kill Beckett off. TBS can kiss Castle goodbye. If they continue Castle, they can have Beckett with a small role each week.

No, because there are 3 different betaine if the finale they shot. One is a series finale ending, one is a usual season-ending cliffhanger, and the third is, I’m guessing, Beckett’s ending.

CBS stated that they were going to let Beckett go last year, but when Patrick Demsey left, they felt it would be too much, so they signed Beckett for another year. I think she was aware of it all along. If you notice, as a Captain she is out in the field all the time and her scenes with Castle are less and less. Me thinks there is some animosity there. I like where the show is going now with the daughter and british gal. Actors come and go for many different reasons. Look at CSI they have lost two major actors, Michal Weatherly leaving this season, and they are still #1.

Your facts are a mess. It is ABC, not CBS. It is NCIS not CSI. Alexsis is a disaster and Hayley adds nothing to the show.

I really do not understand why, if ABC is so desperate to give Nathan Fillion his own show, they don’t just CREATE A NEW ONE FOR HIM! Those books have been written by a variety of writers. You can tell the difference in style from one book to another, at least I could. I only read the first 3. After that I got tired of the change in tone from book to book.

He had a hissy fit about the Beckett character being more popular the Rick! He told the writers to get in line because he was the “star”simply couldn’t stand working with a woman as or more talented the he is! And then that publicity release written by some PR hack! I am really tired of Stana fans, they are always attacking, they attacked the producer, the writers, members of the cast, ABC and they are always blaming Nathan for everything! this is absurd, ridiculous, too rude. The disrespectful these people are showing on social media is tremendous.

Hello, they didn’t fire Nathan because the name of the show is Castle. Didn’t you read the article about how the network made them go to couple’s counseling, and how Stana was crying because of the tension on the set?

All we need is a Calzona spoiler.. Any hopes of reconciliation ?? They are one of the strongest couple in the show. We all know that they are going to custody battle,but maybe they will figure out how to get back to each other… Hopefully!!

RE: Blacklist “Red will experience a betrayal at the hands of someone very unexpected”. Dear God, please tell me it is not Dembe! My heart could not take that. Maybe it is Liz’s mom who he seems to genuinely think is dead – that would at least be “unexpected”.

Perhaps the network’s use of the word “betrayal” is exaggerated, that someone close to him (perhaps Kate/Mr. Kaplan) has lied to him “for his own good” and will reveal the truth later. I thought Samar’s reaction on the street was more for the “eye in the sky” than real because, of all of them, she’s the best trained to deal with sudden death without falling apart. Liz’s “death” would likely make whoever hired Matias let down their guard a little, allowing Red to get to them. Then they can bring Liz back, hopefully in a more realistic state of mind than “I hate Red” every time things don’t go her way. Also, takes the pressure off Megan Boone so she can enjoy her real-life maternity leave.

Very heartening news that we might actually get some more of Belle. I hope that doesn’t just mean the occasional shot of her snoozing on the cot in the pawn shop. (Which was 90% of season 4, and she wasn’t even under a curse then!)

Considering we’ll probably only see a minimum of Beckett and maximum of Castle, why bother.

I won’t even take a look at an eventual Castle s9, so I don’t care if has a time jump or not. I’ll forever see s7 finale as “series finale” and pretenf s8 was just an awful and long nightmare!:-P

Words cannot describe how angry I am at ABC. They clearly have zero respect for Castle fans. They are no way they are clueless enough to not foresee the fan reaction. They just really don’t give a damn. They probably make syndication money out of Castle just for every ep airing. So they are willing to string it along until it’s a stinking carcass. I am not even a fan of Beckett and even I am furious.

Yes, I am surprised on how many fans on both sides of the divide (Nathan vs Stana) have come out against this move by ABC.

It’s because whether you hate one actor or another, one character or another, the fundamental fact is that the bedrock of the show has been both actors and both characters. As someone who doesn’t like Beckett, I would obviously prefer there would be well written stories focused on Castle, but I would never wish for Beckett to be removed from the show.

And I think Zoom’s kidnapping of Caitlin is going to be the first steps towards her becoming a variation of Killer Frost, either heroic with the team or villainous, betraying them.

As the love of RC’s life, there is only one way this can end. It is also the reason that Lanie had to be terminated, she would have been a constant reminder of the past.

On the other hand as I stated before, it’ll be interesting to see how much closer Rick,Javi and Ryan grower.

I missed Castle most of this season. I don’t think there is any place left for the Castle/Beckett story line to go. I don’t know where that leaves the series if it’s renewed, but it could open up interesting possibilities.

Glad to hear that we have not seen the last of Belle this season… Though could that possibly mean that we might just see her sleeping form? I’d really like to see her awake by the end of the season…

As for Castle… Possible death? Time jump? I don’t know how I feel about this. I kind of wish the show was ending this season. Eight seasons is more than a respectable run for that show…

On Orphan Black, it would sure be nice if Delphine were alive. After this season of carnage, it would certainly provide a soothing balm.

For Blacklist, I think the betrayal in question is Mister Kaplan. I think she faked Liz’s death and didn’t tell Red in order to sell the ruse.

None of the TV programs are really for the customers – they just choose what they want to present – and we are stuck with their bad taste. Consider who is usually home to watch TV — and wonder when they will provide something for them to watch!

Thanks for the scoop on Hawaii five o. This is going to be the best season finale of all I think. Just love Danny and Steve !
