I like that one theory that was explored sejak Neil Gaiman in the Sandman series. Maybe there were all sorts of deities before (Norse, Chinese, Egyptian, Greek, ect) but they all weakened and faded away as people stopped beleiving in them. Since Greeks no longer believe in their old gods, i don't think their are any now.
But maybe since there exists literature about them that lets people become aware of them, maybe they are still around, but don't have as much power as before.

I haven't read the Sandman series, but I have read American Gods and I Cinta the whole concept.
I am Greek and i have read almost everything about the Ancient Greek Gods. All of their myths are amazing, but i don't believe that they are real. Well, i am sure! It's just imagination. People wanted to believe in something so they created them.
Yes! I do! Very much so ^^ The Greek ones, though. The Roman Gods are just Greek God wannabes XD
I've really gotten into all things Mythology since I started Membaca Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Personally, one of my kegemaran series of books. It's up there with Warriors and The Hunger Games.
