What is your opinion on citizens taking the community's matters in their own hands?

I've read in the newspapers that Helmond (a Dutch town) is preparing gangs to take care of the town's loiters, because they think it's getting out of hand and the police isn't doing it's job well. Personally, I agree with that.

I personally would like to see how this is going to turn out. It probably won't turn out well, but I'd like to see how.

Actually i agree with them as well. The police in any country have gotten down lower then they possibly can do, and it doesn't help matters that the British government (particularly) are taking away lebih and lebih funds out of the emergency services to save money, literally forcing them into redundancy, sacking good officers out of a job, just to pinch the pennies. And while this is going on, we are still being over-taxed for the services that are getting into a lower grade.
The problem that i see it as, is that there are too many 'human-rights'. If a police officer hits a villain either sejak mistake atau sejak self-defence, that villain can they claim police brutality, and it's the police officers fault.
We do have something in England called Citizen's Arrest, where normal average people can 'arrest' wrong-doers for petty crimes, such as theft, vandalising public property and loitering, but often the wrong-doers are always in a gang and one person can't take on five atau lebih people. Also, the person making the citizen's arrest has to wait for a police car to tunjuk up, in that time the wrong-doer could cause a lot of damage to the person trying to gain control of the situation.
The police will not do anything about loiters to be honest, not here in England anyway. For example, a 75year old woman called the police to complain about a gang of teenagers who were sitting on her garden wall, drinking alcohol and throwing their used cans of lager onto her garden, being very noisy and shouting and swearing at passers-by. The police officer who answered the call berkata they couldn't do anything as they loiters hadn't actually done anything illegal to the person atau her property. She berkata they would only come out and take them away if the teenagers became physically AND verbally (not just verbally they needed to have touched her in a bad way) atau began pulling up her Bunga atau smashing her windows before they would do anything.

The Dutch police is a joke. (though I want to sertai them later... weird me...) In the end of the bulan every driver knows that they have to drive like a 100% neat 'cuz the police has to have like let's say 10 parking tickets so they go and give tickets to every little shitty thing.

Plus the police is discriminating. If you're muslim anda can do pretty much anything without a single warning. But if you're Dutch and anda throw a chewing gum paper on the ground anda can already hear their handcuffs say "click-click" around your wrists...

I agree with anda that the Dutch jusice system leaks at all sides. But it isn't discriminating sejak a long shot. Not in the Netherlands, anyway. Anyone here has an equal chance of becoming an officer, may anda be black, caucasian, muslim, etc etc.

I have strange papar on this to be honest as i've seen the same thing happening here. If anda are british the police will come down hard on anda for the silliest things, yet if anda are not they leave anda alone atau only give out warnings. However that doesn't include serious offences such as rape, murder, ABH, GBH atau theft on the major scale (cars, money worth over £1000 etc) then no matter what race atau religion anda are, anda can get done. But the same applies to us, anyone can sertai the police force, no matter what race, colour, religion, sexual oreintation etc

@Bond_Of_Fury Uhh it is the worse discrimintating thing in the Netherlands. Have anda even bothered to look at the news? A muslim father who killed his own daughter for dating a Dutch boy was cleared of all charges because it was "something from his culture". So maybe not where anda live but in Utrecht and the other parts of the Netherlands it does.
