I learnt about the greeks a couple of years lalu and he fascinated me so I did research on him. I cant remember exactly though because it was ages lalu but what I do remember is that he was greek and... what else? Theres something else but i cant seem to put my foot on it. Oh yeah I remember!! I REMEMBER!! He was a god. So overall, a greek god.

Ares has no unique attributes, but is described as strong, harnessed in bronze, and golden helmeted. He rides a war chariot. The serpent, owls, vultures, and woodpecker are sacred to him. Ares had unsavory companions like Phobos ("Fear") and Deimos ("Terror"), Eris ("Strife") and Enyo ("Horror").

He is an important Olympian god in the epic tradition represented sejak the Iliad. The Membaca of his character remains ambiguous, in a late 6th-century funerary inscription from Attica: "Stay and mourn at the tomb of dead Kroisos/ Whom raging Ares destroyed one day, fighting in the foremost ranks".

The Romans identified him as Mars, the god of war and agriculture, whom they had inherited from the Etruscans; but, among them, Mars stood in much higher esteem. (See also Athena.)

Among the Hellenes, Ares was always distrusted. Although Ares' half-sister Athena was also considered a war deity, her stance was that of strategic warfare, whereas Ares's tended to be one of unpredictable violence. Athena and Ares were enemies. His birthplace and true utama was placed far off, among the barbarous and warlike Thracians, to whom he withdrew after his affair with Aphrodite was revealed.

"Ares" remained an adjective and epithet in Classical times, which could be applied to the war-like aspects of other gods: Zeus Areios, Athena Areia, even Aphrodite Areia Burkert (1985). Greek Religion. pp. 169. In Mycenaean times, inscriptions attest to Enyalios, a name that survived into Classical times as an epithet of Ares. Vultures and dogs, both of which prey upon carrion in the battlefield, were sacred to him.

Besides everything else that's telah diposkan already, I remember him as quite a charming god. Aphrodite was in Cinta with him and in some myths Eros is the child of Ares & Aphrodite. They got caught in the act sejak Aphrodite's husband at that time Hephaistos.

Zeus made him the god of war, because it's quite common in the family of the Olympian gods for sons to kill their fathers, like Zeus killed his father Kronos, who in turn has killed his father Ouranos. They did this with the help of other (half-)gods and people. To prevent anyone from siding with Ares in a attempt to kill Zeus, he made him the most hated of all gods, when in thruth, he never started war, but only got interested as soon as humans had started one.

Ares has a daughter named Harmonia, leader of the Amazones, who was killed in the Trojan war sejak the Greek Achilles, because they fell in love, but he still remembered he had to kill the enemy.

Personally, he always has been my kegemaran Olympian God. Handsome, charismatic, though, passionate, tortured, lusted after sejak many, loved sejak (nearly) none... Awesome guy ;)
