I don't think you should be allowed to change it, because people might get confused on who's who if everyone was allowed to change their username whenever they wanted.

^ Well, you do bring up an interesting point there. But couldn't they tell who it was by simply looking at their photo gallery? I get what you're saying, but I'm also just saying.

I'm with legend_of_roxas, it has the potential to get confusing very quickly. Maybe if there was a limit to the number of times you could change it, or if there was a record of your previous usernames on your profile page, it could work.

Why not? It's the one thing that annoy me with Fanpop a lot. They didn't allow us to change our username.

Only under certain conditions, maybe each account has the option to change their username just once, so they think about it more. Or maybe a high enough amount of gold can be traded in for a new username so it doesn't happen often and confuse people.
I agree with anaswill though, keeping a record of your old usernames on your profile is an idea.

I wanna change mine so bad. Maybe some limits to change your name? Or maybe a policy that says that you can't change your name during an x amount of days?

I'd love to change mine from this to BrideOfMephistopheles, because my current username is my old Ponysona's name and the number of the beast from when I was going through an edgy 13-year-old phase and liked MLP. And BrideOfMephistopheles sounds way cooler and, well...Mephisto.

Fanpop should totally add the choice to change the username, like with the conditions Zeppie mentioned.

Lol when I made my fanpop account years ago, it was legit just to comment on a Harry Potter v Twilight photo or something. Didn't actually expect to stay xD

So know I'm stuck with a random chapter from HP that people probs misread as "princess tale", lol ew. Have a different name on legit every other webstite I'm on.

NOOOoooo. My worst fears confirmed xD Now my username goes even further up the ranks of "things I regret doing on fanpop when I was 13" (and it has some very worthy competitors)

^XD Worst part is, for a while when I misread it as that, I used to be like "Oh cool, did she remove an S cos the name was taken?" when I realized it wasnt "Princess" rather than realizing "Princes" was a word too XD

Misspelt princess?? THAT'S ALMOST TWICE AS BAD ahaha

Can't say I haven't done the exact same thing though... the biggest highway in Australia is the Princes Highway and I was pronouncing it "princess" until I was 19.
