They buried the Hessian where they killed him, which just so happened to be beneathe the tree.
Then, i'm guessing, when Lady van Tassel dug him up the pokok was just a door to another world, but i don't think the pokok was a door way before the Hessian was buried there no.

im sure that the sword that they put in the ground over his grave was half way up the pokok when ichbod found it and that baltus van tassel berkata that when they buried the horseman, they had planted aSEED of evil so the pokok grew from that evil seed, thats what i think

hmm.. i don't think its and mistake i think its lebih we've just misunderstood the film. still have to watvch the film.. seem to have miss placed the DVD, dound the box no dvd there.
