I remember visiting this website once...
It was called The Originals Boss Shoots Down Klaroline Once and For All | The Vampire Diaries | Wetpaint
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
We’re very excited to see Nina Dobrev appear on
The Originals as Vikings-era Petrova doppelganger Tatia, but we’re sad the crossover doesn’t include any Klaroline love. Especially because it sounds like any future interaction between The Originals’ Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and The Vampire Diaries’ Caroline (Candice Accola) is unlikely — at least for the foreseeable future. What did The Originals executive producer Michael Narducci tell The Hollywood Reporter about Klaroline?
did tell reporters that questions about future crossovers were “a little bit above my pay grade.” Then, he went on to give this depressing quote about the future of Klaroline…
"It doesn\'t feel like there\'s an easy way to make people drop what they\'re doing in Mystic Falls and come to New Orleans, and certainly once our story lines get rolling, it\'s going to be very obvious that it\'ll be very impossible for our characters to take a vacation and go to Mystic Falls," Michael explained. "If anything, the last thing [Klaus] would want is to involve someone else in that. There\'s a lot of dirty family business to deal with first."
We suppose that’s kind of sweet? Klaus wanting to keep Caroline out of the mess that is NOLA and Klaus’ life right now. But Caroline totally can and has taken care of herself — and the people she loves. We think she would be an asset, not a weakness. But Klaus’ brain doesn’t really work that way, does it?
Though we won’t be getting any Klaroline in the upcoming crossover, we will be interested to learn more about Klaus’ romantical past. Besides Caroline, we’ve never seen Klaus pursue anyone in that way. What happened with Tatia to make him so closed off? Why does he so believe that “love is a vampire’s greatest weakness”?
Do you think there’s any hope for Klaroline? Are you excited to see the upcoming crossover — despite the lack of Caroline in it? Sound off in the comments below!
Catch Nina’s crossover episode of The Originals on Monday, November 3 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
