Damon is naked. Do we really need to say anything more? Ian Somerhalder just shared a new trailer for Season 7 of ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ and it’s smoking hot! Excuse us while we pick our jaws up from the floor. Watch the video here.

We have to admit — we were a bit skeptical about a Nina Dobrev-less

, but a new Season 7 trailer shared by Ian Somerhalder on Sept. 29 has completely changed our outlook. Why? Because Damon gets totally naked in a scene with Alaric (Matthew Davis). Dead.

“Why is Damon naked in this new Vampire Diaries Trailer…?” Ian asked on Instagram as he posted the video seen below. We don’t care why he’s naked — we just hope he does it very often throughout Season 7!

We can’t get over how hot that new trailer is. Not only does Damon get naked in front of Alaric, but Stefan (Paul Wesley) is seen kissing Caroline (Candice Accola), and Damon hints that his brother and “Care Bear” may finally be “a thing now.” We can only hope. Alaric is also heard telling Damon, “clothes would be nice,” but we beg to differ.

And if you’re hoping for Elena’s return this season, don’t hold your breath. Nina recently opened up about whether or not her character would come out of her coma, and she told 

“I can’t wait to see what the new season will look like. I’ll be watching. I’m very excited for my friends.” As for her, she said, “That chapter is closed, sadly – bittersweet.”
