Do anda think the NPCs can die.

I think they can because everything else in the world that is alive can die except the things with a soul. Like the master of the river, from episode 7, is a fish, but died when it got sliced up. And the guy in the saat computer lab from episode 12 died. So he was probably a NPC because if he wasn't he would have regenerated.

Yes because Naoi used them for shields and hostages so they can die but if they couldn't, the SSS would charge without worry about the NPC hostages.
