fans have a big complaint about season four episode \'Arkangel\'.

Directed by Jodie Foster and written by Charlie Brooker, the episode follows a mother called Marie (Rosemarie DeWitt) who has her daughter Sara (Brenna Harding) implanted with a chip that allows parents to track their children, see through their eyes, and even monitor their stress levels.

Called Arkangel, the chip later becomes a nuisance and Marie stops using it. However, as Sara becomes a rebellious and sexually active teen, Marie starts to monitor her daughter\'s life once more.

\'Arkangel\' review: A cautionary tale that feels more like an indie

While the episode has had modestly positive reviews, some viewers have picked out an issue with one part of the story.

The scene in question shows Marie secretly slip her daughter an "emergency contraception" pill in a smoothie, after learning of her daughter\'s pregnancy via the chip.

However, as viewers have since pointed out, the modern day emergency contraceptive pill does not terminate pregnancy, and some audiences have slammed the show for misinforming viewers about sex education.

Mad at Black Mirror for saying emergency contraceptive would terminate a pregnancy. Not true.

This is a spoiler, but I am so fuckin\' mad that they portrayed the emergency contraceptive pill as an abortifacient in the Arkangel episode of Black Mirror.

And yeah, black mirror were very dangerous for calling it an emergency contraceptive when it was an abortion pill.

Ok the Arkangel episode on black mirror has me kinda upset right now. They said an emergency contraceptive pill will terminate a pregnancy and that is completely false🤦🏻‍♀️ who da hell wrote that scene???

In defence of \'Arkangel\', some fans have pointed out that the episode is set in a fictional and dystopian universe, meaning that type of pill could exist in the world of

Can’t be trying to add rational to a Black Mirror episode. What’s to say an emergency contraceptive can’t also be an abortion pill in a world where people live to 2000 and parents can monitor their children through an implant? Loool relax ffs.

Nonetheless, other fans have argued that if that is indeed the case, the pill should have been given a different and dystopian name to mark the difference, at the risk of falsely informing its audience:

Emergency Contraceptives do not “terminate pregnancy.” It stops pregnancy. Unless this is some sci to abortion pill that doesn’t exist in our time? In which case don’t call if “emergency contraceptive” and confuse people about an ACTUAL pill thanks
