When it comes to ships like Damon and Elena, there's one thing everyone is sure of; their journey will not be easy, it will not be calm, it will not be cushy atau effortless. Rather its the complete opposite, its hard and strenuous. As opposed to other couples that meet and fall in Cinta the seterusnya day. Where is the angst? Where is the story? Where are the 'sweaty palms', as Kevin would say?
I know Damon and Elena have had their fair share of angst and heartbreaks, but keep in mind this is only a PART OF THEIR JOURNEY. First season was about this wounded beast who met this beautiful compassionate girl. saat season was him redeeming and falling in Cinta with her. Third season was about the girl fighting and trying to come to terms with her growing affections for him. This fourth season was both of them realizing an ultimately admitting the consuming passion and unconditional Cinta that they harbor for each other. How is this, not a journey?
DE peminat-peminat are very well aware of how much Damon loves Elena. No one has ever loved her the way he does. He is also the most vulnerable when it comes to her, yes, but Damon is the smartest guy in Mystic Falls. Do u honestly think he would accept atau agree with anything Elena is saying atau what her hati, tengah-tengah is desiring for RIGHT NOW? Do anda really think that the compassionate, loving girl would go off killing people ruthlessly and he would believe that Elena really is like that? Do anda think Damon would give up on her just because she's throwing some tantrums? What happened to 'Damon knows Elena the best'? What happened to the 'Delena understanding' that DE peminat-peminat were so fond of using as their argument? Damon, out of everyone, knows Elena the best. And despite her hurting him million times, he has never judged her atau condemned her over anything. Despite Elena doing things that he never approved of, he has still loved her and stuck sejak her. Then how can anda guys think that now, when she doesn't have her humanity, when she is just a breathing corpse, he would actually take anything she does right now, seriously? Think logically for a moment.
Now lets talk about Elena. First of all, if u hate her then I suggest anda leave right now.
Elena Gilbert is a kind, loyal, compassionate, selfless and a beautiful honest soul. Human atau as a vampire, she was HER. Her humanity is what defines her. Her humanity is what makes Elena Gilbert, Elena Gilbert. Has she made mistakes? Yes. Has she done wrong stuff? Yes. But no one on this tunjuk is innocent. No one on the tunjuk has a white blossoms, Angel track record. Then why is Elena always on the hot seat? If anda guys can forgive and understand Stefan's, Damon's, Klaus' and Katherine's past then why can't anda extend the same level of compassion towards Elena? If not, it just makes anda hypocritical, plain and simple. She has Lost everything in her life. Everything she touches is snatched away from her, has Lost six parental figures including her sole sibling within a tahun and a half, how can anyone not breakdown atau turn off their emotions, when in her state?
But the Elena right now, is not her. She isn’t the girl that would get up at 3 am to help her friends. She isn’t the girl who would die before letting someone harm a hair of her loved ones. She isn’t the person who would fight tooth and nail for Damon. She isn’t the girl who confessed her undying Cinta for Damon and envisioned a whole lifetime with him. She isn’t the girl who forgave him even after he killed her brother. She isn’t the girl who never gave up on him no matter what his actions were. She isn't the girl who vowed time and time again that Damon is her happiness. That Damon is what her hati, tengah-tengah yearns for. So, in all honesty, anda can not hold any grudges over Elena for her current actions. They are not okay on any level. But this is her mind controlling her, her lack of emotions and feelings driving her to do these things. The real Elena would’ve never even thought about doing any of this. About putting her own happiness and desires above everyone else's. About doing everything to her heart's content. THIS ISN'T THE REAL ELENA.

Do anda think this ^ Elena, who had her humanity, the Elena that was fully present, the Elena that was controlled sejak her selfless soul would ever hurt Damon off her own accord? If anda do, I feel sorry for you. Elena loves Damon deeply and irrevocably. It was never to get over her parent's death. It was never to fill the void in her life. She fell in Cinta with Damon because he was Damon. Sure she has tried to make him a better person but that is only because she knows he is capable of it. She loves him with his flaws. She loves all aspects of him. Hell she loves him to the point where she has their entire lives planned out in her hati, tengah-tengah and head. Then how can anyone even think for a saat that Elena possibly hurting Damon in 4x19 is sejak her own self? Is sejak HER OWN desires? She isn't herself. She isn't aware of what she's doing right now. She can go and sleep with a 100 men and it still wouldn't matter because this Elena, is only a shell of her. The real one is lost, but rest assured she will come back very soon.
As far as Stelena is concerned, I have stated this lebih times than I can count, that their ship has sunk lower than the Titanic. Its never going to sail again. Stefan wants Elena out of her life, he wanted to erase every single memory he had of her, he walked away as soon as things got difficult. He does Cinta Elena, but it was never enough. It was never unconditional. Same goes for Elena. Elena needed Stefan for comfort because her life was in a turmoil when they met. She loved him but it was never enough either. The reason behind her choice in 3x22 had loyalty branded on it, not true love. It was a head over hati, tengah-tengah choice and they got the closure they desperately needed. Once anda fall out of Cinta with someone, anda CAN NEVER fall in Cinta with that person again. SE is beyond repair, they are forever ruined now. So anyone who is of the opinion about their possible reconciliation seterusnya episode, is clearly deluding themselves. These fears are completely dumbfounded and baseless. Fearing over SE now is stupid. Elena doesn't feel anything for anyone right now, so how in the name of all the lords of heaven is Stefan an exception? She is ready to go to immeasurable lengths to get what she wants RIGHT NOW so how can anyone fear that her feelings for Stefan have started reappearing? This is just ridiculous!
Quoting Julie about 4x19 “Elena's busy hurting everyone in the episode, not just Damon. They all know it's coming from a place of cruelty, not emotion.”
Concluding, the worst thing that could have ever happened to Delena is 2x01. Damon killing Jeremy being completely oblivious of the eternity ring, would be enough to finish any and all connections n ties that Delena had with each other. But did it? No. Despite that incident, Elena grew to trust Damon with her own life. She fell deeply and completely in Cinta with him. Then comes the choice, the dreaded 'C' word as Damon would call it!, her choosing Stefan should've been enough to finish everything Delena had but did it? No. It only brought them closer together. Stelena has always been a catalyst to build Delena up. If Delena can survive these obstacles which honestly could've ended and rooted out every bond that they both shared, then how can they not survive this? When both Elena and Damon are head over heels in Cinta now, when they both are each other's happiness, when they both will never choose anyone other than each other? Come on guys!
I am not saying Delena's journey will be easy. We will have to bare angst, they will be apart before being happy again. But its all about Damon and Elena. They will never look back now that they have chosen each other. So watch some DE peminat videos, read some fanfictions, watch 4x07, 4x08 n 4x10 again. Scream out ‘We will survive’ at the bahagian, atas of your lungs and keep shipping n reveling in the flawlessness that is Delena because Damon and Elena's Cinta is real and we will never ever walk away from them.
