In the books, the Vampires that drink human blood can develope an ability of appearing in the form of animals. The animal that Damon chose to appear as was a large crow. I guess they wanted to add a similar ability to the Damon in the show. But later, they gave up this idea.

they berkata it was to Supernatural lol.I swear I red it into an interview but hello that's how the buku are.!Also damon can be a serigala, wolf in the buku :)
