An inquest is being held in Ireland into the death last tahun of a pregnant Indian woman, after she was refused an abortion. The case has outraged India, but an alarmingly large number of women die in India because of unsafe abortions.

Did you even read the article? Have you no sympathy for these women? The societal shame and stigma is costing women their lives in a country where abortion is actually legal. The woman featured in the article couldn't even talk to her village about her rape for fear of bringing SHAME on her family and that no one would want to marry her anymore.

Remember, it's not about shaming and humiliating women further for wanting an abortion, it's about saving as many lives as possible with as much compassion as possible. Don't preach bumper-stickers at me and stand on a pedestal. If you care, help women in need, don't judge them.
