Early concept art of Belle and the Beast
Early concept art of Belle and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast; often considered the magnum opus of the Walt Disney company was released on November 13, 1991. As most people know, it is the only traditionally animated film to tarikh to have garnered an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. This may have been due to the approach to this film. It was so unusual for an animated film; having a screen writer, Berlakon director, flawless score, elements that were typically reserved for high-budget live-action films. So much care and detail was put into this film that entire buku could be written about it. However, like my sebelumnya two artikel-artikel I shall focus solely on the creation of the film’s heroine, Belle.

The story of Beauty and the Beast had been abandoned sejak the original Disney creative team in the 1950's. One of their many problems was they felt that in the classical story written sejak Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumonte, Belle (who had two selfish sisters) was too boring and too reminiscent of Cinderella. When the saat generation of Disney writers picked it up again, efforts were made to set Belle apart from her sebelumnya princesses and so they turned to leading ladies from novels written in the midst of the Romantic Era such as Little Women and Pride and Prejudice.

Katharine Hepburn in Little Women (1933)
Katharine Hepburn in Little Women (1933)

A common false notion is that Belle was artistically modeled after a younger Katharine Hepburn. Unfortunately, this is NOT true. Linda Woolverton, the screen writer says Belle's "personality" was largely based off the character of Jo from Little Women played sejak Katherine Hepburn. Katherine Hepburn herself was never used as a physical reference for Belle but undoubtedly some of her essence seeped into the character.

Overseeing the visual Rekaan of Belle was assigned to animators Mark Henn (who also had supervised the designs of Mulan and Jasmine), & James Baxter who animated characters like Rafiki and Quazimodo and who would later menyeberang, cross over to Dreamworks and animate such characters as Sinbad (Sinbad the Sailor), Tulio (Road to Eldorado), and Moses (Prince of Egypt). While both animators focused on the look of Belle, Baxter contributed most to her mannerisms and dancing scenes.

The two animators figured they'd take a new approach to Belle and try to make her lebih “European” looking. In order to find what that entailed they turned to European Model and Pelakon wanita like Vivien Leigh and Audrey Hepburn. Audrey Hepburn was also used for Aurora but her rounded features were Lost to the angular style of the film but now ideal for Belle. Actress Sherri Stoner who had modeled for Ariel returned as the life action reference.

Henn and Baxter even turned to classical artworks sejak artists like Bernini. Unbeknownst to most, Belle’s look is quite indicative of classical Baroque style, a period mentioned in the film that coincided with America’s Colonial Era, hence all the ponytails.

As for Belle's mannerisms, Baxter found his inspiration in the artwork of one of the fathers of Impressionism Edgar Degas. Degas was a French artist who is particularly known for his subject matter of dancers. This sparked Baxter to observe how trained ballerinas naturally walked and carried themselves and incorporated that into Belle. Throughout the film she walks with a dancer's turnout.

It was proposed sejak Art Director Brian McEntee that color was to play an important role in the film as well as the seasons and weather. The seasons would be a metaphorical reflection of the characters emotional journeys much like in Bambi. In everyone's lowest emotional point it is winter atau raining and as they grow it becomes spring. In regards to Belle's wardrobe, McEntee opted to utilize the psychological impacts of Warna to suggest Belle's mood.

In the first half of the film, Belle is dressed in blue. Blue is often associated with discontentment, loneliness, sorrow and it is no accident that these coincide with Belle’s feelings whenever she wears that dress. As Belle and the Beast's relationship progresses, Belle is seen in a Green dress, a color that incites calmness and relaxation. Then, during the song "Something There" she wears Pink which is popularly known for its association with young love.

 Belle vs. Audrey Hepburn

Yellow, however, is the color of happiness and joy which brings us to her iconic gown. This dress has been seen before. It was directly inspired sejak the royal gaun worn sejak Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. While the film was shot in black and white, publicity and editorial shots reveal that Miss Hepburn's dress was a golden yellow. Belle's gaun was telah diberi the rippled skirt since the original Rekaan was deamed 'too plain'.

In addition to Audrey Hepburn, Beauty and the Beast share several similarities with Sleeping Beauty. Sleeping Beauty was made due to the success of Cinderella which had lebih atau less saved the Disney Company from bankruptcy in the 1950's. The case was very much the same with Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid in the late 80's early 90's. It is only fitting that both films end with the same dance sequence.

(Though most likely due to Beauty and the Beast's pressuring deadline.)

Belle has become undoubtedly one of the most popular of Disney Princesses and rightfully so. She's a well written three-dimensional character. Probably the easiest to relate to, she is just a misunderstood girl living a humdrum life who wants more, and like so many people, she doesn't entirely know what 'more' was until it finds her. In the end, Belle's character is an ideal role model for girls everywhere teaching us an invaluable lesson to look beyond a physical exterior and see the beauty within; that true Cinta knows no boundaries.
DEFENSE OF SNOW WHITE RUNNING INTO (AND IN) THE FOREST

(author's note: Snow White will forever be my favourite princess... I also have thoughts about her apology afterwards but I'll post that later when I actually put it into words and write it)

1. RUNNING INTO THE FOREST

Firstly, Snow White goes from picking wildflowers, humming “One Song” to herself, helping a baby bird… to nearly being killed and realizing that everything that had just happened (=break from being virtually slave) was for that purpose.

Out of self-preservation - and not weakness - she runs into the forest. As of now, she...

Okay, so honestly, I loved this movie. But here is my review.

1 = How did Elsa get her ice powers? It's never told throughout the entire movie. Surely it wasn't something passed down from her parents, because they didn't have them, and they couldn't even keep Elsa in control.

2 = Admit it. We all knew Hans wasn't going to stay right when Kristoff and Anna started their journey. We all knew he was going to end up being her boyfriend/love interest, and Hans was going to e pushed aside.

3 = Elsa wasn't telah diberi a lot of screen time. I mean, wasn't the whole movie circled around trying to get her back...

Chapter 2: The Cook That Always Makes Delicious Food
Anika woke up one lovely morning and went down to eat breakfast and read today's newspaper, she saw that she was mentioned in one of the articles, this is what it stood on that article:
The Cook That Always Makes Delicious Food
There's no one in her hometown that doesn't know who she is, Anika is easily the best and most well known cook at the moment, everyone loves her Makanan and she even makes professional meals look flawless and tasteful. She always tries new meals, there's very few meals that she doesn't like. She doesn't want to tell what...

So here’s how this artikel will work. I rank each one sejak song and score and then I’ll add up the placements that each soundtrack got and that will be there keseluruhan placement. Since the countdown was done it two different ways (Song and Score) I believe there are no ties. The kegemaran and Least Kegemaran Songs were almost all picked sejak ten amazing people!!! Give yourself a cookie!

The Princess and the Frog
Score done sejak Randy Newman

This is my kegemaran score out of all the DP scores and so I was really sad to see it go out. But I kind of can agree with the reasons.

So, I just finished watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, because I plan in rewatching all Disney Princess Filem in order. I'll also write a review for each after I watch it - except Frozen, maybe, since I already did, but I may write a comparision about what changed in my opinions.

I'll also try giving each part (plot, music, etc.) a score, but I warn anda I can't be too harsh.

Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, the fairest one of all: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

The Plot:

I see almost no problems with the plot. in addition to being concise, it's charming and captures...

Frozen Movie Review!
Hi everyone! I stumbled upon the Disney Princess page while I was Membaca movie reviews for Frozen. I absolutely Cinta Disney and enjoyed Membaca the artikel-artikel telah diposkan sejak other members, and I wanted to write my opinion on how Frozen compares to the other Disney Princess films, its faults, and where it succeeds.

I broke the review up into 3 sections: Music, Story & Characters.

Music
Unfortunately, like Princess and the Frog, I believe Frozen only really had one stand out song (“Let it Go”), the rest weren’t particularly enjoyable atau memorable. “In Summer” and...

 Boring and Too Short
Boring and Too Short
The Disney Princesses have the most amazing hair, like ever in my opinion anyways, though some lebih so than others. So here's my senarai starting at the bottom.
13. Snow White
Sorry Snow White but your hair is just boring. It's super short and I've just never been a peminat of short hair. I like that it's curly but that's pretty much it.

12. Tiana
Her hair is really only slightly lebih interesting than Snow White's.I hate that she only wears it in a bun through out the entire movie, I wish she would wear it down. I like her curls though, they are cute.

11. Cinderella
I find her hair pretty bland as...

I did an artikel on this a while ago, but my opinions have changed a lot since then and Merida wasn't a member of the group back then so I think it's time for an update. Also, I believe all the princesses are BEAUTIFUL so even my last place is great :)

11. Merida

It's too cliche, I won't say I'm in hate! It pains me, pains me, that I have to put Merida in last, especially since she gets oh so much undeserved hate, although I feel she deserves last. Her hair is amazing! I Cinta the color, the texture, the OOMPH! It's all just so awesome to look at. I also like her body, it's very realistic...

I've written this type of artikel so many times now, but I felt like Penulisan an updated senarai anyway, as soon as I've watched all the DP Filem I might update the senarai again

11. Merida

She's the only Disney Princess I don't like at all. First of all she's way too rebellious and now I feel that Disney should take a break from those types of princesses. Also she's very whiny and her personality isn't very interesting to me and she annoys me so much

10. Tiana

Despite only being 10th I like Tiana, I Cinta how determinded she is over opening her own resturant. But what I Cinta the most about...

One of the reasons to why I Cinta most of the Disney Princesses is because I can relate to them so I decided to make a senarai of that, hope you'll like this article

11. Merida

She's the only Disney Princess that I can't relate to AT ALL, the closest would be that we both enjoy being outside and long for freedom and the relationships between our mothers is sort of similar in the beginning, but after Elinor became a menanggung, bear she and Merida's relationship became so different from me and my mother's. But other than that we're each other's total opposites, Merida wants to break traditions, I sometimes...

Every Disney Princess needs and Villain and every Villain needs to get defeats so we can have our happy ending! So which villain had the best defeat/death? (Because not all of them died). Here we go!
(If anda haven't seen all the films, I will be spoiling the deaths sejak saying what happened, so...be careful)

11: Governor Ratcliffe
If this was a best Villain's Singing voice I think he would win...but sadly this was a best defeat and Ratcliffe that is in one way that anda failed really badly in. Here's what happened. He shot at Pocahontas's dad, but Smith took the bullet, and everyone got mad and...

Now we're hearing about spoiler after spoiler after spoiler! I know there's a thread for spoilers on here, but that's not what I'm talking about right now. I'm talking about how CONFUSING it's all sounding! We don't even see a real trailer, we hear about buku being released before the movie comes out, what's next? *Takes a deep breath* First off, let me talk alittle about Elsa.

I'd be fine if Elsa was an unofficial DP, but because she's a Queen and Anna's sister,...

I will first explain my keseluruhan statement about the couples in a paragraph, and then I will analyze each scene to look at the inner and outer feelings of the characters individually an the couple itself. 1. Piglet's Big Movie:

10. Aurora
Merida just wouldn't understand why Aurora obeys authority and is respectful, instead of opposing everyone around her. She would find Aurora boring and too girly, always angan-angan about men in her dreams. Aurora is exactly the type of person Merida doesn't want to be. Aurora put her duty first before her own pleasures, and Merida wants to gain her freedom. She wouldn't see Aurora's actions in a positive light and will find her too inactive and passive.

9. Cinderella
