To each their own. But I find very weird and creepy to think about cartoon characters aimed at children doing sexual things, or talking about how sexy their private parts are.

I didn't want to say anything but yeah, I really hate it! IT'S FREAKING DISNEY! Disney is supposed to be an escape from the crappy adult world! I mean, in high school I always heard people talk about sex and dirty stuff (thankfully something I don't have to deal with in college), so I don't wanna have to deal with that in my Disney world, where it's meant to be an escape. With the exception of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Who Framed Roger Rabbit, sex doesn't exist in Disney, despite people trying to say that The Lion King is spelling out sex or that Frozen is talking about the size of Hans' equipment. To each their own but this is disgusting! I mean, butts and breasts are one thing because they're visible enough for us to see (not completely) but talking about sex, packaging, and all that crap. That's just NASTY in my opinion! But to each their own.

Okay it's not creepy to me so much as weird. I guess I'm kind of used to it as this is the internet. However I didn't think fanpop was like that...
On the kpop side the 'which SNSD member star hast the best ass' questions are also not appropriate.

But yeah, I was actually just thinking the same thing and was kind of surprised when no one commented on it. I'm a to each their own kind as long as it doesn't impact me of person. I mean things like this don't impact me significantly but I personally don't care for sex nor sex talk at all. And I'm perfectly content not imagining how big the Disney dudes' junk are.

I think people sometimes forget these characters aren't real -- so anything can and should be fair game when we talk about them.

Especially among adults. As we grow, we find different ways to relate to these characters. And sex is just another part of life for (most of) us.

These polls are also great at lightening up the mood around here. I feel like we take things too seriously in this group sometimes...

There's tons of latent sexual themes and tropes in Disney anyway.

MelStrachey picked I don't care.:
While the polls that are happening now are rather juvenile and meant to be funny, the general concept of understanding these movies in a more mature, adult perspective should not be shied away from.

The characters depicted are adolescents and young adults, so the themes of sex and sexuality should not be separated from our understanding of their personalities and motivations. Many of the themes in the movies revolve around a sexual awakening of sorts, innocently tamed down to "true love."

Moreover, I personally believe that it is rather immature to shy away from such topics. Understanding sex and sexuality is a very important part of life and understanding yourself. If you are made uncomfortable from something a silly as a contest to decide which imaginary man has a bigger penis, what will that say about your reaction to a real life sexual situation?

Now, please, do not misunderstand me. I understand that I am older than the typical age group on this site and am therefore, more mature as a result. What I'm trying to do with this post, in particular, is promote awareness for these issues. Sexuality is a very important part of one's identity and is nothing to be ashamed of or be hushed up. It took me a long time to figure this out for myself and I'm happier for it.

For those of you that are interested this is a very helpful and informative website that has more actual sex-education than any school anywhere: link. I hope that I've helped at least one person here.

Thanks and I apologize that I went all inspirational rambling on everyone, but I felt that it was something that needed to be said.

@MelStrachey I'm well aware of what sex is. And I'm well aware of my sexuallity. I'm asexual there fore I find most sexual things to be gross. And one of the reasons I still love Disney is because it lets me escape from the dirtiness of the adult world. But i also find it very strange for people of any sexaulity to want to talk about the sex life of a cartoon character that is aimed at children.

For me it's a little weird when someone ask sexual questions or posting porn fan-arts with Disney characters because Disney is for all ages and not for adults only. Maybe it's okay with fan-art stuffs but not with official stuffs. I don't think they will allow you to make a movie or publish comics about Disney characters having sex or any sexual stuffs.

Well, cruella, that is not necessarily the case for everyone else here. What you are doing, then, is projecting your own insecurities on everyone else and trying to continually sanitize the world around you.

Sex, sexuality and the world are not dirty or unclean and, even as an asexual person, you should still realize that sex is a reality for most other people.

You are not the majority. The majority does not have to cater to you, nor do you have to cater to it. You could, just simply, ignore the polls that you find offensive and do not play into your asexual world.

Also, denying the opportunity for the rest of us to discuss these topics, which are not gross or dirty, is denying us a right to free speech and to further our understanding of the characters we love and ourselves more.

Moreover, I actually find it very offensive that you seem to only understand "people of sexuality" in relation to sex. Also, the phrase "people of sexuality" makes it sound like those who are not asexual have some disease because we enjoy physical pleasure or experience sexual attraction. Aren't you a person of sexual orientation as well?

And another point, I know asexual people in real life and they are just as comfortable with sexual themes as I am. The only difference between them and me is that they just don't experience sexual attraction.

And besides, the countdown isn't even sexual in nature. Its anatomical! :)

Did you read the entirety of either of my posts? If not, I recommend you go back and reread them.

Also, if you combine the people who don't care and the people who like these polls, the balance is currently 50/50 against people who don't like them. You are, in fact, not in the majority.

And when I was saying majority, I meant the world beyond the petty squabbles of this little nook of the internet. In the grand scheme of things, you are not the majority and have no right to try and censor what content is displayed or not, not that the majority has that right either.

But I've always felt bringing it into Disney was gross and unnecessary, so I was asking everyone how they felt about it!

@MelStrachey, it's hard to read your entire posts, they're very long and ramble on about the same thing and bla, bla, bla. Also, how is being asexual being insecure? Are homosexuals insecure because they're not attracted to the opposite sex? Asexual is not a form of insecurity, it's a way of life for a lot of people. Now tell me, how would you react to people talking about the sex life of Barney or Bob The Builder or one of the My Little Ponies? Who cares about their sex life? I'd say people who like talking about it are the more insecure ones because they're talking about the sex life of a character who doesn't exist and isn't even a live-action character! cruella is not trying to censor anything, she's just stating her opinion. If people are allowed to make polls about Disney characters sexual lives, why can't cruella comment about how she doesn't like hearing about it? People have made polls, wallposts, articles, tumbler confession pictures, and comments saying how they're sick of how people talk bad about so and so character. How is this any different?

^^ Sigh. I agree with MalloMar. We get sex saturation from the internet, from the magazines in the grocery store, from TV shows, from the endless social media outlets: tumblr, twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, etc., etc. Though I can understand the surprise of seeing it on this club, I am also not surprised that it finally got asked.

If you are uncomfortable by it, that is okay. No one here needs to tell people what to think. People need to decide for themselves, and leave it at that. To do more, is to create the recipe for an argument.

Basically, I have a "yawn" feeling about the prince/male anatomy polls. In real life, who cares how long your penis is? Who cares how long an imaginary penis is? I have much more important things that concern me, like how I will pay my damn bills.

At the end of the day, you decide how you feel about it. Just don't turn around and tell another person that their opinion is wrong. I hate reading posts rife with bickering. That, to me, is the most offensive.

but let's just keep in mind, if it's OK to be pervy about guys, we can't complain when people do that to women either. people seem way more offended about the latter in general than the former. I wish at least people would be consistent about it.

But... women are objectified in this club pretty much every day -- every physical aspect of the DPs has been picked apart to no end here. And it passes without comment. Which is fine with me -- again, they're not real, so no harm done imo. (If they were actual people, I'd definitely find it creepy though.). But a random piece dissecting some aspect of a handful ot fictitious dudes among the tons of similar articles on the DPs here isn't a big deal, and I feel like we're blowing this up to be more than what it should be.

@cruella Hooray for aces! Seriously, I'm pretty much the same way. I'll crack a sex joke or two but when it comes down to it I really don't care to see everything getting sexualized all the time.

And then there's what uploaded said about sexualizing animals and underaged characters. I've seen Toph (a 10 year old from Avatar) getting porn art and I was like...wow this is...no.

@Well, cruella, that is not necessarily the case for everyone else here. What you are doing, then, is projecting your own insecurities on everyone else and trying to continually sanitize the world around you.

Sex, sexuality and the world are not dirty or unclean and, even as an asexual person, you should still realize that sex is a reality for most other people.

Yo, asexuality has nothing to do with 'insecurities'. I'm completely fine with my body. I simply don't want sex end of story. I just don't see the appeal.

I can agree with you here. Having sex is the norm. And there's nothing wrong with it. It's just not for me (and not for cruella). I have nothing wrong with people having/liking sex. Just don't wave it in my face is what I'm trying to say. That'd be like me preaching to you that sex is wrong or evil or some bullcrap like that. I'm not trying to be rude here, but there's a time and a place for sex and sex-talk. And I personally (as well as a few others) don't think fanpop is the place. And I personally don't think Disney is the place for it either.
I completely understand that there are adults that love Disney but keep in mind that there DP is aimed at young kids and there are young children on fanpop who see it.
I usually don't support censorship but I think it's more...respectful? to keep the talk of the Prince's junk elsewhere.

You are not the majority. The majority does not have to cater to you, nor do you have to cater to it. You could, just simply, ignore the polls that you find offensive and do not play into your asexual world

Okay I'm gonna try to keep my cool here, because this comment really did rub me the wrong way. You're right no one has to cater to what we want, and I'm not asking you to do so. However you don't have to be so pompous and arrogant either. You don't want us telling you 'you're dirty' then don't wave your sex talk in our faces.

TBH I personally don't care about sex talk in general. I'm a do what you will kind of person. But again there's a time and a place. I'm not going to cry about how 'my virgin eyes are scarred forever because of this' because really they aren't. But not everyone is like that.

'Do not play into your asexual world'? Get off your high-horse for a minute. If we have no right to tell you to stop posting about dicks then you have no right to tell us we 'have to have sex'.

makes it sound like those who are not asexual have some disease because we enjoy physical pleasure or experience sexual attraction.

Who even implied that? Sexual attraction isn't a disease, asexuals know this damn well. At least most of us do. It's normal, it's a basic biological need.

And another point, I know asexual people in real life and they are just as comfortable with sexual themes as I am. The only difference between them and me is that they just don't experience sexual attraction.

This is also true. I can respect this statement. However not every asexual is the same, some asexuals are more open to and comfortable with sex and sexual themes than others. I know it probably sounds like I'm a prude right now. But really I'm a pretty open person. I'm completely comfortable talking about breasts, ass, male anatomy, and sex in general. I just don't want to experience it.
I guess my big bold point here is there's a time and a place for that kind of talk.

I really wasn't going to dig deeper into this issue until you went off on this borderline anti-asexuality rant.

@KataraLover Asexual is not a form of insecurity, it's a way of life for a lot of people.

Damn right! Tbh frank I think asexuality makes me feel more secure. I don't need sex to verify that I look hella rad.

What made the above comment so hard to read is that it pretty much mocked asexuality. It was pretty off putting, if you're gonna debate at least try to be respectful...
