Aurora, while enchanting and charming on screen, simply lacks the depth to be able to resonate well with me. She serves as a vessel to project a personality onto. I really see people reaching into minute characteristics she displays and slap her with a full personal profile.

Aurora is a princess that we don't see much from her, but during short screentime that we've seen so far, she was shown as graceful, elegant, and responsible person. She obey the fairies' order to not talking too much with strangers, and she agrees to enggage with prince as it's her duty as a princess, even that she didn't want to. She has a potential to be a good character, if she has more screentime.

She's a very neutral girl, she's sweet, dreamy, playful, yet ultimately responsible and dutiful. She lacks depth, so that's probably why she's never been very high on my list, but all of her attributes are ones I tend to like in a character. She just wasn't given enough time to shine, if she was she'd probably be one of my favorites, but even still I do like her as minuscule as that like might be.

I admit that one of the main reasons I love her is because of nostalgia (SB was one of the few DP films I owned as a kid), but I don't think that invalidates my feelings toward her. She is shy and proper and wants more independence but is too afraid to ask for it. I enjoy her sense of duty and her commitment to her role as princess, even when it doesn't coincide with her personal desires. Unfortunately, I can't deny that she lacks depth as a character. It's a shame because I think she has a lot of potential.

She's one of my favorite princesses. People says she sleeps half of the movie, not a real protagonist, pathetic, doesn't have personality and didn't do anything beside singing, dancing and crying. That’s not completely true. I think, with her limited screen time (not her fault at all she had limited screen time), Aurora succesfully showed a dreamy, hopeful girl who is kind, respectful, mature and even wise.
I think Aurora is quite playful. She’s also sweet, charming, gentle, and poised. She even has a slightly flirty side. I don't think she’s weak because she wept after been told about her real identity. I think her reaction is quite normal. She just found her entire life had been sixteen years of illusion. I really don't blame her when she runs off crying.
Aurora may not go to big adventures like Mulan or Ariel. She doesn't have the chance to defeat anything, to save anyone, or to control the progress of her own movie. She doesn’t even awake for half of the film. But she did managed to show how a girl could dream and gave away that dream to be responsible. I think it’s really admirable. She’s being totally selfless. For someone who was raised a peasant and then so suddenly being told she’s a royal, Aurora surely has some great sense of duty. She knows nothing about her people yet she obediently goes back to them and the kingdom. Her people can’t ask for a better future ruler than that.

A charming enough character who is pleasant to watch, but also lacks depth and development. I prefer heroines who I can look up to in some way, and unfortunately I cannot find anything about Aurora which I look up to, particularly as I have never thought of her return to the castle as an act of nobility or self-sacrifice.

If joint rankings were allowed, Aurora would share the top position with Jasmine. That's exactly where she is in my mind. Same to Jasmine, Aurora is gorgeous. She is the classic fairytale princess. Ethereal voice when she speaks. Romantic, dreamy but secretly clever. As she knew the fairies where upto something when she left the cottage and she briefly broke the hypnosis and took control. She becomes more mature in Keys to the Kingdom. I like Aurora's striking eyes, hair and triangular princess dress. I like her how mysterious she is. Not much character development is an open door in the fanon. I know many on here who don't love this, but as an open minded person I do - seeing Aurora in different atmospheres with added personality traits that were not present in the film like exploring Aurora's dark side - mean girls style or giving her a little obsession quirk like squishy bugs. I have my own head canon - fanon of Aurora.

i agree with MaidofOrleans except on the point that she reacts way too submissive to learn that her whole life had been a lie. I mean, wont someone have question before agreeing to fall into line on order. I understand she would cry and feel helpless, but at least try to find an alternative. Or question. She just dont display much of her personal intelligence.
