People often "say" that Ariel is the "villain" in the movie, and prefer Ursula, simply because they didn't like [fill in the blank] that Ariel spoke, or did, or her dream.

So, out of these choices, I'm gonna say Ariel.

At least people respect Merida for not wanting to be married off.

^Yeah you're misunderstanding the question. The question is if there was a plot twist and one of the princesses turned out to be the villain. You're using this as another platform to complain against Ariel criticizers.

Anyway, I can see this a few ways-- like Mulan maybe secretly joined the army in disguise to get to the emperor and kill him (I realize that's a bit far fetched)
or Aurora secretly died awhile ago, and Maleficent disguised herself as Aurora to lure Phillip to his death (kinda cheating but oh well).
Belle sent the villagers to kill the Beast as revenge for capturing her and her father.

^Oh, this is the "revenge twist" on everything? Then I guess Ariel would have done something to get back at King Triton for destroying all of her collection--- but I really don't know what kind of "cooked-up punishment" Ariel would devise.... Because Ariel just never struck me as the revenge type.

I went with Mulan because how cool would it have been if she defeated the army just so she could try to take the kingdom for herself lmao.

^doesn't necessarily have to be revenge. Could be someone was the villain the whole time..like the plot I put in for Mulan.

She did basically poison her mother, tried to take away her mother's will-power, said she was okay with war breaking out for her own needs ("We'll expect your declarations of war in the morning!"), and nearly caused war to break out that would result in death and suffering because of her. I wouldn't be surprised. She even put a flower or something next to the cursed cake, likely to cover up any possible scent from the cake that would make Elinor think there was something dangerous about it. She's got the makings of a villainess and might've been a more compelling character as a villain.

This is one of my favorite types of plot twists -- I'd watch a movie like this for any of the princesses.

Ariel I think would be most likely. She could be working with Ursula to lure some humans out to sea... and maybe Eric was special/couldn't be brought in the regular way, so Ariel turned human and made him fall in love, got his guard down and then drowned him.

^Well, I thought the harpies were winged, and the sirens were not. The harpies were definitely not associated with the sea that much. The cry from a harpy usually was heard right before someone died.

Would totally watch this twist for any of the DP films! I think Merida or Jasmine would fit best as the villain of their films.

Somehow i could always imagine Cinderella turning into Tremaine herself due to prolonged mistreatment and unfulfilled dreams. She could just easily become a mean, cold hearted person
