PART THREE- AS anda MIGHT LIKE IT...

(Friday)
Blair is in a taxi on her way to Chucks house. it's Friday evening and they are leaving for New Haven tonight. She arrives and removes her bags from the car. She is there on time and is surprised that Chuck isn't out waiting for her. She rings the doorbell and is invited in. Bart is in the hallway and greets Blair, he tells her Chuck is getting ready in his room, Blair decides to go up to his room to see whats taking him so long.

Chuck's room.
He is putting on his kot when she enters.

B: Hey, im here. What's taking anda so long...having saat thoughts?
C: Hi. (he looks away from her and into his mirror to fix his coat)
B: Charming....what's with the bad mood....did your goldfish die?
C: (Gives her a withering stare) ......just wait downstairs.
B: Look i dont like this half as much as anda do...so if anda want things to go smoothly i suggest anda put on a fake smile and be civil. I dont appreciate anda giving me that kind of attitude.
C: Fine....i apologise...it's my father...he knows just how to piss a guy off. (plays with his tie which is not done up properly)
B: (watches him undo his tie) Let me.. (she takes his tie and straightens it before putting it around his neck and doing it up, he watches her the whole time) There...perfect...
C: (looks into the mirror once more) Thanks.
He begins to clear some things off his floor, whilst she looks around his room. She notices a foto frame on his katil side table, she picks it up. It's a foto of a woman. She has long wavy black hair, big brown eyes, red lips with a beautiful smile....she did menanggung, bear a resemblance to Chuck, Blair realises who the picture is of. Before she can turn around to ask, Chuck comes up from behind her and snatches the foto from her hand.

C: Leave that alone! Get out of my room!
B: Calm down i was just looking!
C: Well no one invited anda into my room and asked anda to touch my things!
B: Oh really, well that makes anda a hypocrite, you've been in my room touching my things with out my permission!
C: That doesn't mean anda can touch this...its nothing to do with you...(he opens a draw and puts the foto frame in it, then slams it closed) just go! wait downstairs. (Blair turns to leave the room) and ...don't ever mention that picture to anyone else...you saw nothing. (he turns away from her, she leaves)

Blair walks down the stairs, not sure of whether to feel guilty atau angry. When she gets down Bart tells her to come to the car saying they'll wait for Chuck there. She obliges.

In the car

Bart (Bt): So, your Chuck's girlfriend then? I'm surprised...when he berkata he had an actual girlfriend i thought he was joking...making it up....i didn't expect him to have such a beautiful woman sejak his side. I mean he is Chuck...and i know what he's like.
B: Actually we're just...(cut off)
Chuck enters the limo.
C: Lets go.
Bt: Speak of the devil....Charles....you should have told me your girlfriend was this nice...i would have allowed her over for makan malam, majlis makan malam some time....in fact your welcome at our house any time.
C: You're speaking as if your ever home.
Bt: Of course im always home.
C: Really...where were anda yesterday...and the hari before...in fact where are anda every time i have makan malam, majlis makan malam at the table....alone....(Bart gives him a blank look) Exactly....your never utama when anda need to be.
Bt: Charles do we really want a repeat of earlier on....especially in front of Blair...? I mean we have all night to argue...but id rather not. Anyway....Blair...tell me....how is school?
B: (feels out of place) Ummm great...it's...school....you know....it's great. (forces a smile)
Bt: And what are your favourite subjects.
B: I like...History, drama, (remembers the buku chuck gave her) and English Literature!
Bt: Really? Who are your favourite authors?....

Chuck watches them as they talk....although he feels angry at his fathers penchant to argue with him and make his life a living hell, he cant help but feel glad that Blair is up-keeping her part of the deal. He can tell that his father likes Blair and that she has already made such a good impression on him. Deep down Chuck is glad that he has indirectly impressed his father....although he wonders if Bart really does believe that Blair is his girlfriend, knowing Bart he has probably guessed that Blair and Chuck are just pretending.

Bt: Wow, those are some aspirations Blair....im sure if anda keep committed anda will definitely get far in life......and if anda ask me, Yale would be lucky to have such an intelligent student...you would be a great representation of what Yale stands for...and i'll be sure to put in a good word.
B: Oh my, really...you would do that for me? That is amazing...isn't it Chuck, Chuck's taking me there this weekend aren't anda chuck, (looks at him) Remember our deal...?
C: Umm..yeah sure...
Bt: Come on Charles anda could be a bit lebih enthusiastic...this is your girlfriends academic future we're talking about...you should be proud of her...she has achieved so much...you could learn a thing atau two from her!.....well?
C: Ye...she knows how proud i am of her...(he looks at her and smiles, she smiles back)
Bt: Well Blair....you have have no idea how glad i am that anda have fallen for Charles...it's a miracle....compared to his usual choice of women anda are an inspiration....let's hope Chuck that anda don't let this one get away.
B: Mr. Bass....you're talking as if i have something to be worried about! Chuck and I, are very happy...aren't we Chuck (grins at him)
Bt: Well at least he makes someone happy (laughs).
C: Ye thanks.
Bt: Well can anda blame me Chuck....you're behaviour over the last few years...or more...it has been inexcusable....
C: Well...i only follow in the footsteps anda have unfortunately left behind for me.
Bt: Dont turn this round on me! I was nothing like anda at your age...! Sometimes im ashamed to call anda my son...the things anda do! if it were up to me i would never let anda near a girl like Blair...she is far too good for you!
C: Well im glad anda think so highly of me....at least i can relish in the thought that i make anda so proud!
Bt: Dont use sarcasm on me....im not used to anda speaking in full sentences...or is it too early for the Scotch?
Blair is shocked at the way Bart and Chuck are speaking to each other.
B: Mr. Bass...i don't think that's very fair....Chuck is....not the way anda described him.
Bt: Odd....i would have expected a harsher retaliation from anda Blair....or is there a reason for your reluctance to defend him...maybe anda actually agree with me.
B: No....of course not (realises that she has to better her acting) I don't have to prove anything...Chuck knows what I think of him...don't you? (she puts her hand on Chucks knee)
C: Absolutely.
Bt: Well....your not exactly Berlakon as if your a couple. anda might want to soalan how sure anda are about this relationship Blair...get out while anda can.
B: Actually me and Chuck are really happy....aren't we (she looks and gives a fake smile to Chuck, whilst holding his hand and leaning onto him, he forces a smile back) Chuck is the best thing that's ever happened to me and he's the most wonderful person i know...so you're wrong about him.
Bt: Well....i hope your right....if anda ask me..you're both too young to know what you're getting yourselves in to.

Much later on they arrive at New Haven and are at their hotel. Bart tells Chuck and Blair to go to their room and says he will see them in the morning.
They go to their room, its much past midnight so they get ready for bed. They both unpack their things, in silence until Blair decides to talk.

B: All this pretending to be your girlfriend is making me cringe! This is not what i signed up for!
C: Well i did warn you!
B: Having to snuggle up to anda and act nice! It's revolting!
C: Well no one asked anda to defend me! I can look out for myself!
B: Well i wont bother seterusnya time...i just...i don't get why he treats anda like that....well actually no, i do.
C: anda do?
B: Ye...lets just say my mother isn't exactly the most complementary parent either...i know what it's like.
C: Well...it's a cold world.
They both smile. Blair sits down on the bed.
B: Im tired, im going to sleep now. And don't forget the katil is solely mine.
C: Fine...I'll sleep on that! (he points to a chaise longue on the other side of the room) But i have a tendency to sleep walk, so if anda wake up in the morning with me on bahagian, atas of you, don't be tempted to throw me off the katil (he laughs)
B: Uuggg! Dont even think about it Bass!
She climbs into her duvet. He closes the lights and also lies down. he whispers goodnight to her and says it back.

The Wedding hari (Sunday)
Blair has finished getting ready. she has been hanging around with some of Chucks female cousins and the bridesmaids. The groom, Dimitri, is Chuck's cousin and the bride, Eloise, is Dimitri's childhood sweetheart. Blair has heard many things about chuck's Family from the girls, but none of them seem to know much about Chuck, all they know is what they have heard...Chuck is a player and his father is the owner of bass industries.

Chuck on the other hand has been hanging around with Dimitri and his other cousins. They haven't really tried to socialise with him atau involve him in their shenanigans. They call him "a loner" and cant believe that he has a girlfriend. They have all heard how Chuck is a player and that he is a failure at school and would never be fit to work with Bart in the family business. In comparison all of Chuck's cousins have exceptional academic status with glowing careers ahead of them. almost all of them have decent modest long term partners with the perfect families, proud parents and loving siblings....to them being married with a prestigious career is the norm. For Chuck, booze and fast women was the norm....but here he had to conform and pretend the Chuck they have heard about was a myth and misconception. Hopefully the fact that he had Blair, the beautiful, intelligent and decent, pretend girlfriend with him would help out his cause. He just hoped that she wouldn't mess things up for him. He hadn't seen her since the night they arrived. Apparently she woke up earlier than him yesterday morning and was whisked away sejak the other girls for the girls hari and the hen night before the wedding while he was stuck with the boys. So they had only kept in contact through one text conversation.
But it was the wedding hari now so he would finally see her. Truthfully, she was his only friend at this wedding. He needed her to keep him company.

At the wedding ceremony. Blair is talking to one of the bridesmaids when she spots Chuck standing alone in the distance. She instinctively excuses herself and goes to Chuck.

B: Long time no see...(she smiles)
C: (he turns and sees Blair, dressed in the most beautiful dress...he looks at her up and down) Hi....where have anda been hiding...you look...nice sejak the way.
B: (smiles) Dont flatter me Bass....i've been socialising with your cousins....they're pretty nice. The bride, Eloise is a bit stuck up but other than that i pretty much fit in!
C: Really...good for you.
B: So how was yesterday with the boys...make any friends?
C: Friends? I dont do friends.
B: Uuugh your such a drag...lighten up its a wedding! And thanks for not keeping your promise of taking me to Yale!

They are interrupted sejak calls for everyone to enter the wedding hall.
Blair and Chuck enter the Church hall, they take their kerusi, tempat duduk seterusnya to Bart who is already inside.

Later on that hari at the wedding reception. its twilight.

The young members of the clan are sitting on one meja, jadual eating their meal and chatting. Blair and Chuck are also sitting with them. After eating Chuck asks Blair to leave the meja, jadual with him because he doesn't feel comfortable sitting with the others. They get up to leave, until one of chuck's cousins speaks. His name is Harry.

H: Leaving so soon Charlie.
C: We have things to do....
H: But this is my brothers wedding...you have to follow custom and stay till the end....just like the rest of us....or do anda have a problem with that...?
C: No problem Harry....i just have something else to do.
H: (he laughs to mock him) Really....and what could that be....? Something involving that babe of yours?
Another cousin joins in the conversation, Liam, whilst the others laugh.
L: Ye who is she man....i didn't see Chuck bass as the type to have a girlfriend....i thought anda preferred easy women...or is she one of your whores? (They all laugh)
C: What did anda say, anda bastard!? (is about to confront Liam but is stopped sejak Blair)
B: Chuck! (grabs hold of him) Dont....please ignore them....you don't want to make a scene.
L: Yeah push-over, id listen to the lady if i were you! that's if she is your lady....rumour has it that we may have a case of "Wedding Date" here....how much did anda pay her to come here with you?
Chuck becomes worried that his cover is blown. Blair lets go of his arm.
C: I don't have to listen to this crap. (turns to Blair) Lets go.
Blair puts her hand on his face.
B: hei honey we don't have to leave just because these spoilt brats are trying to intimidate us...(she looks into his eyes and smiles, an attempt to convince everyone that they are actually a couple) what do they know about us anyway.
she leans onto him before Ciuman him on the lips. they continue to Ciuman passionately at the dismay of his cousins who watch on and then look away, ashamed to have accused them of faking it, if they didn't believe it before they must definitely believe it now. Blair and chuck continued to Ciuman until there were a few shouts of "get a room" from on-lookers. Blair lets go of Chucks lips.

B: Maybe we should. (saying this loud enough so that Chucks cousins can hear)
C: Should what.
B: Get a room...(she giggles, before taking his hand and leading him away, she then looks back at the meja, jadual and gives the others a dirty look)

Blair and Chuck go outside.

C: What the hell was that!
B: What? I was just sticking up for you...trying to prove them wrong! Did anda see their faces after we kissed! They totally got a taste of their own medicine! (she laughs)
C: (angrily) Look you're not my girlfriend ok! anda don't have to defend me! I told anda i can look out for myself! All anda had to do was stand seterusnya to me and look pretty there was no need for that ok! Do anda understand!
B: Calm down Chuck! I don't get why your shouting at me! I only did what anda asked me to come here and do! What is your problem!
C: Just stay away from me ok! This is over! (he angrily walks off, she follows after him)

Chuck walks back inside, looking for Bart. He spots him talking to one of his uncles. He walks up behind them and hears a mention of his name, so instead of interrupting he listens to their conversation instead.

Bt: I know...sometimes i just don't know what to do with him.
Unc: Well it's not like anda owe him anything....he might be your son Bart but anda have to think about bass Industries....all the hard work...it cant go wasted.
Bt: I know....and ive known it since the hari he was born....there's no way im going to let my business fall into the wrong hands.
Unc: Well, although it is unfair...i mean he is family...but anda know him better than i do...he's your son.
Bt: Exactly...i know just what he is like....he would probably ruin it purposely...he's a stubborn lad...he's failed many times before there's no way I'd let my business fail, sejak one of my own...imagine what people would say.

Chuck interrupts them and they turn around.

C: Well "father" im sure they wouldn't be able to match your exceptional portrayal of me.
Bt: Charles...I...
C: Dont bother....i don't want your stupid business anyway....i don't want anything from you...and seeing as i obviously mean nothing to anda i may as well not bother waiting around for you...im out of here....
Bt: Charles let me explain..
C: Good riddance!

Chuck turns to see Blair standing in shock behind him, he storms off past her and she gives Bart a sick look before following after Chuck.

About half an jam later Blair finally finds Chuck, Sitting on the pantai just outside where the wedding reception was held. he has a bottle of alcohol in his hand...she walks up to him....she can tell he has been crying. She cant believe the things she heard Bart and Chucks uncle say about him....about their own flesh and blood. The whole weekend has been a disappointment...she knows what a bad time Chuck has had on this trip....his whole family turned against him...right now she was his only friend there.

B: Hey....are you....ok...? (he ignores her) If anda want to talk....im here...(ignores her still) maybe i should get rid of that (tries to take the alcohol from his hand but he pulls his hand away from her) ...it's not really the best time to get drunk...
C: Im not drunk!
B: Not yet...
C: Why are anda here anyway!? Just leave me alone!
B: anda really want me to go? anda want me to leave anda here on your own? All sejak yourself....drowning in your sorrows....and if anda do end up drunk you'll probably end up drowning in the water too!
Short silence.
B: I dont have anywhere else to go....or anyone else to go to. You're the only person i know here. And im the only person who's bothered to even care about you! Can anda see anyone else here helping anda out!?......No! Because no one else cares!
Chuck looks at her, insulted at the truth. no one else did care.
B: Wait...im sorry i didn't mean it like that....of course people care about you...i just meant that....well...look...im sure Bart cares...he has to.
C: well maybe anda didn't manage to catch my fathers rendition of Chuck Bass, (raises his voice) im a failure to him...a regret, a disappointment and i bring shame on to the family, im his sumber of humiliation, the murderer of his wife...
B: Chuck! Dont say that! those things are not true! ............We all try to live up to our parents expectations...your the only person i know who has the guts to stand up for what he wants to do...the way anda want to live your life. anda should be proud of that! and why on earth would he blame anda for your mothers death?
C: Because Im the one that killed her! She could have had me terminated like he asked her to but she decided to keep me...and then she died giving birth to me......(stands up bottle in hand and shouts) BECAUSE OF ME!! I KILLED HER! (whispers in tears) I killed....(falls back to the ground, Blair holds onto him, she is also almost in tears).
B: Chuck....that's not your fault....(struggles for words) women usually have complications during child birth...it doesn't make it your fault....
she holds onto him, he leans his head into her lap, she can feel the wetness of his tears on her thighs, she sheds a few tears too... she never imagined that the Chuck bass she knew was really so volatile deep down...she'd obviously misunderstood him, just like everyone else...his tough exterior was hiding the weak interior...he had had no one to care about him, his whole life.....she finally understood why he'd asked her to go to the wedding with him as his date...he didn't want people to realise what his life was really like. empty.
They both sat there for a while....she wanted to allow him to just let it all out...to just cry and calm down.
She whispered his name and lifted his head up into her hands.
B: Chuck......it's ok....everything will be ok...im here for you....
He looks up at her...her warm friendly smile...her welcoming eyes....for once he felt vulnerable and she was there....he felt safe. He leans his face towards hers and kisses her on the lips. She kisses him back and they continue to Ciuman passionately until he is lying down on the sand with Blair on bahagian, atas of him Ciuman him. She begins removing his clothes. her hand slides down to his trousers and he feels her opening his belt. He stops Ciuman for a moment and she looks at him smiling. just as she is about to Ciuman him again...

C:This is your first time..?
B: (she smiles) Yeah...there's a first for everything...(she kisses him again and he stops)
C: Not like this...(he manoeuvres himself from under her and fixes his clothes)
B: Chuck? Whats wrong...?
C: You're first time shouldn't be like this...it should be special...not with me. (he gets up)
Blair fixes her clothes,
Chuck reaches out his hand to her.
C: Let's go home.
She takes his hand and gets up, they walk off together.
Later on they arrive at the hotel and pack their things. They take the limo and leave for NYC without Bart.
In the limo.

B: How will Bart get home? Not that i care...im just asking.
C: He can take the tube.
B: (she laughs, he smiles back at her) Can anda imagine that! Bart bass in a subway!
They both laugh and she leans her head on to his shoulder. She then puts her hand onto his. He looks down at her hand on his...he didn't understand why she was being so nice to him. He didn't want her to feel sorry for him.

B: Im tired....you dont mind if i fall asleep?
C: No of course not...you should sleep.

She lays down over his legs and closes her eyes after whispering goodnight to him.
He looks at her, her face is on his legs. He removes a strand of hair which has fallen onto her face, she feels his touch and smiles. He whispers goodnight back to her.

Gossip Girl: # Now why did player bass refuse to mate with the Queen B...? Has Chuck suddenly developed a heart...that cant be so! And B, Having a soft spot for the guy that she's always despised?!
